According to MMORPG.com’s twitter feed there will be a big announcement coming soon.

What could it be?

The news is coming on Tuesday, they say in a later tweet. Same day the feature pack goes live. Safe bet it’s news on Living World S2.

I’m 100% sure it’s going to be about Living World season 2, but the twitter replies indicates that it’s both feature and content.

So I expect an outline of content that will be coming along with Season 2, which will show at least one new zone and hopefully end up with 3-4 by the end of the year.

They will also outline the new reward system that will be put in place in the near future – the same reward system that shelved/delayed precursor crafting.

Along with other important content, such as new races, new cities, new weapon types, e.t.c.

This could very well be the content that was discussed several months ago by guildwars2hub as “better than an expansion”

They’re replacing human females with inanimate harvesting trees, and you can role play with people who stop and chop. You have to buy charges to restock your supply of wood.

What if the prologue of S2 starts tuesday aswell?
Colin said in a recent interview that they like to go even more ‘mysterious’ (= not spoiling stuff with release pages, etc.) with the living story.

- flying mounts
- new race: elves
- new profession: death knight
- new gem store items: DPS booster, race change, sPvP invincibility tonic
- “holy trinity” overhaul
- berserker gear given 100% damage buff
- ranger pets removed from game, longbow damage halved
- thieves no longer can stealth
- CoF path 1 now gives double gold
- elementalist attunement swap now on 120s cooldown
- subscription fee

We find out that there never was a Scarlet and that she was just an illusion generated by Queen Jennah for the purpose of seeing her true agenda realized while maintaining her reputation as being “good” and her throne of power and control. Kasmeer is also revealed as having aided the Queen by assisting with maintaining the Scarlet illusion on a watchwork frame at remote areas where players would encounter a non-holographic form of her. Players killed an illusion (maintained by Kasmeer) just as the Queen wanted us to since the Scarlet character was no longer needed.

Safe bet it’s the missing details about the patch, and that’s it.

We’ve all seen how ANet hypes every little thing they do. Remember “an expansion’s worth of content”, anyone? Or how about the end to LS season 1 and how it was going to “change Tyria forever”? It was a big change to ONE ZONE, and (very) small changes to three others.

Any big “news” they have to give out on Tuesday will be about the patch itself, or more empty hype that doesn’t tell us anything about the future of the game, save that they think we should be excited about it. (And they thought that about Scarlet, too.)

Most likely information about the coming six months, coming in combination with Colins blog-post.

But really, anyone realize that with new dragon that the pact will be there? And since the pact has trahearn….ugh….we have to deal with him in the LS now…

As we move away from there he may resist the withdrawing of the resources he’s using to cleanse Orr, but he won’t be joining us. We’ll need a new expert. And there’s only one person that knows anything about this dragon.

I think i know where you’re getting at. But where are we going to fund that powerful of a necromancer, a young priest, and an old priest?

It is a nerf to engineers because apparently after a certain amount of players bandwagoned to them in PvP they decided to make a change to keep them as the least played profession.

You can’t really blame ArenaNet for what others hype up though.

ArenaNet themselves have said nothing at all about any information coming soon, it is strictly MMORPG.com that has been hyping up this new information.

That’s a pretty drastic and absolutely unrealistic comparison you’re making.
Nobody can be as bad as Fox News. Not even CNN.

Some of us have thoroughly enjoyed all of those updates. Got to love folks with such a high opinion of themselves that they assume their opinion represents an entire community.

Well their big feature pack is almost here so the programing is most likely done next China then “hmmm, let me think the only thing that can top all that would expansion pack announcement”

I wouldn’t get my hopes up. That is all. Hype is what ruins half of what this game does. Why would anyone set themselves up for that again?

Aren’t we due for a balance update sometime soon also?

I think that whatever it is… It’ll be out on Tuesday. And I have plenty of other stuff to do over the weekend.
