While reading the amazing new blog post, a question was burning in my mind. If legendary weapons will be getting the option to change their stats, will existing transmuted legendary weapons be getting the same option? Do you think they should?

Personally, I think it’d be fair to give the owners the same option. I’m not sure how it’d be implemented but then again, I don’t pretend to understand code, so I have faith.

Probably not since they are not legendary (stats) anymore. Unless they allow stat change for all items and not just legendaries.

Unfortunately I don’t think you’ll be able to. I think that only vanilla legendaries that haven’t been transmuted will be able to change since technically a transmuted legendary is not that weapon anymore – it’s just been turned into the appearance of it.

Can anyone from Arenanet provide any comments on that? I tried to contact support but their answer was generic and useless as usual.

I have transmuted 6 out of 11 legendaries because PVT stats are useless in nearly every aspect of the game and i really-really do not want to see all my efforts wasted.

Appreciate any feedback, please note that this question was already asked on these forums multiple times

Thank you

actually if theirs one item you want to have as pvt, it would be your weapon, zerker stats on weapons cost sooo much attributes for that lil bit of crit dmg its almost not worth it.

PVT is def not useless in almost all parts of the game at all, the only arguement you sort of have is pvt in pve, wvw/pvp pvt is good, and having a few pvt items on a pve build is not bad either, i understand why a pve’er wouldnt wanna go all pvt but zerker trinkets, pvt weapon and knights/pvt armor with ruby jewels is actually really good in pve if your a class with really low base hp like a guardian

Please do not derail thread. If you would like to discuss usefullness of PTV stats please create another thread.

I would really like to get any official or semi-official reply on subject: will transmuted legendaries be broken in upcoming patch or will they work the same way as non-transmuted legendaries?

I’d be truly shocked if they didn’t upgrade them. The weapon is still classified as “transmuted” at the min but the link/weapon text is still purple (changed from release, and all legendaries that were transmuted earlier DID get fixed to be like this).

I really doubt A-net would invalidate the time/effort someone put into getting a legendary. I’m not 100% sure but following the trend that has been set… I would expect them to be upgraded right along with unstransmuted ones.

There was an old thread about this, made roughly around the time when the patch notes that stated “•Transmuting weapons now preserves the higher rarity of the two items.” Jan 28th.

Thanks for info Miku. I transmuted my stuff about a month ago and its good to know that they were fixing legendaries previously downgraded to exotic quality. It leaves us hope that they will not overlook our issue.

I cannot possibly imagine they will leave those that transmuted their legendary out in the cold. I think they will resolve this by simply checking the skin of a weapon. If its a legendary skin, the weapon will be deleted and replaced with the new legendary that can swap stats.

Since a few updates ago transmuted items retain the highest quality between them. All transmuted legendary weapons should, in fact, be legendary quality. So… I don’t see the issue here… The change they’ll do will apply to legendary quality items, where transmuted legendary weapons will be included.

At least, that’d be the reasonable way to do it.

I think that transmuted legendaries will be getting the option to change their stats, although likely they will need some months to solve the transmuted problem, so you will have to wait while people with non transmuting legendaries can change their stats.

I’m certain that ArenaNet will revert the transmute issue and make every Legendary-Owner happy.
But I’d really like to see an official response regarding this topic so everyone can stop worrying and looking forward to it.
