I take it you were doing the level 10 story on a level 80 character? Or passed the bag to a level 80 to open?

I was under the impression that named level 80 exotics have a chance to drop from those bags regardless of the level of the character opening it, and that only non-named equipment drops were limited to being appropriate for the level of the character opening it.

no and no. It was a level 10 Mesmer and she opened the bag. Maybe it was a bug.

This is true. I got Monsoon out of a champ bag on a low level character.

I had never gotten that Rapier to drop for me so I had finally broke down and purchased it for the skin some time ago. I’m glad I did.

I just got a level 63 exotic sword for reaching level 63.

Does anyone know if magic find affects this? Or is that for killing mobs only still?

If it is a normal champ bag. You always could get lvl80 exotic from opening exotic champ bag on low level.

That dont’ mean every exotic champ bag you open will have a named exotic weapon. The title is very misleading.
