Guild Wars 2

I know Anet has said this would be the last living world patch for this season but I have been wondering when we will be seeing some kind of “expansion level” content release? IMO the living world stuff has been minor additions along with some fine tuning that was made to the game but nothing significant has been released yet.

Will this patch (with the revealing of the conclusion of Living world season 1) introduce anything significant amount of content or maybe in the patch following this one?

At some point Anet has to consider Guild wars 2 relative to other major MMOs that have large releases to reboost player interest and bring old players back to the game.

I have been searching online for these kind of topics for a while but haven’t found anything recent. Does anyone know of any plans or maybe we could be “lucky” enough to give us a hint of where they are planning to go in the future with this game?

As they said, there will be a big feature patch sometime after the season 1 ends (prob mid-late march)
What will be in that? They haven’t given any clue yet, although the forums have been rife with speculation pretty much every day since the announcement. I suspect we will know more after this patch lands.

I’m pretty sure the Feature Patch contains all the sweeping balance and system changes they announced a few months ago. They’re probably not going to start adding more LS content until after the second season of WvW, as they said they’re taking a break from it at the end of Season 1.

Hopefully that means they’re revising whatever content they originally had planned to be less awful, temporary content and more peramenent, good content but we’ll just have to wait and see.

Either way, I’m almost positive the Feature Update is just going to be the system changes that were previewed.

You are probably correct about the balance changes, but I believe they said “other” things were being added as well, but were non committal about what. Perhaps as much hope on my part!

The patch has been hinted at spring or summer (the big PVP overhaul with guild battles possibly?) They are taking OUT glory march 18 so idk what the purpose of doing PVP other than to ladder will be (has caused a lot of upset people). They will not give a release date before it is 100% ready to go no bugs so they can give exact date. (So what day before?) Anyways patch rumors I am hearing it is worth sticking around for.

Looking back at the history of what they consider a “feature” and what their idea of “big” is regarding GW2…nobody should be expecting anything worthwhile and should actually be fearing unwanted, unneeded, unrequested things that break other things to be all that is included in it. Until they actually start releasing expansion-like content consistently through their LS and feature patch releases and start behaving like a real game company again, I’ll not take anything they say seriously and file it under bloated PR and marketing talk as that is all it has ever been for GW2 with no tie to a little thing called “reality”.

Just to clarify, they have gone on record stating the “feature” patch, the closest thing to what you might consider more content being added to the game will not occur March 18th. That means you can expect it anytime from Early April to Summer.

The lack of information on the patch itself suggests they are quite a ways out. The fact they are pulling glory ahead of the patch, suggests it will not be that far off though (to a logical person).

Best guesses and hint are being leveled at sometime in April, but of course that can change the closer you get to April.

No, this rumored “feature patch” does not yet have a date.

It makes sense to assume that it won’t go live until after WvW Season 2. So easily another 6+ weeks from now.
