I’m really excited to see what’s in store for us on August 1st. Hopefully it’s a preview trailer for the next expansion as well as new elite specialization previews, story explanation about what happens next ( where everyone is at the moment , i.e braham. ) . I really hope we get some BETA testing too like we did for HoT . Don’t wanna push it but a new WvW Borderland would be pretty dope too. Just imagining what they could add has me excited. I wasn’t even expecting a legendary sword from the last patch so that only has me wondering what other surprises they have in the future !

I agree.

Looking forward to the announcement is fine, but expecting specific things – especially things which haven’t even been hinted at and looking forward to seeing those announced is just setting yourself up for disappointment when they’re not included.

I don’t know what rock you’ve been hiding under, but they’ve been releasing a new legendary with every living story episode (the current one actually got two).

Only greatsword, longbow, scepter, focus, and warhorn are left now.

My guess is there won’t be that much In the announcement they probably I’ll save the hype for the next 3 months of waiting ahead of us

It’s all good and well knowing what wepaon and general idea a new species has but until the actual details of each trait, skill and new class mechanic are there there will still be plenty of room for hype.

Well, we know we are going to Elona and we roughly know what the new elite disciplines are (though not all of them).

We dunno when is the expansion going to hit (probably Nov 2017).
What is the new class (I am guessing it will be Elona themely based, medium armor with high HP pool).
We probably get to test the new class and elite lines (similar to last expansion).

Possibly a teaser of a new legendary weapon and/or new raid.

Henchmen.
Destination other than Elona.
Something else truly cool and game changing I can’t think of on a Wednesday.

Not buying new expansion if:

-Still ele must be healbot to exists in ranked gold+
-New legendary armor raid exclusive.

Not hyped – waiting for something worth buying.

You forgot gear/build loading/saving. Something really really convenient that we absolutely need.

I hope they announce all the Elite Specs at once instead of dragging it out like the first time. It hurts when they do that, especially when your class is one of the last revealed. c.c

Last expansion did have a new class and GW1 had a new class every expansion. It is safe to say it is more likely than not. In any case, will know next Tuesday.

It’s not safe to say, because Anet has quite literally said, Rev is the last new profession. All future advancement will be done via elite specs.

No. They already stated the Revenant finished off the 3 of each armor class (1 high, 1 medium, 1 low hp) for each base profession. There was a discussion from game developers about how going forward they would only be adding elite specs to each of the 9 base professions from now on.

You would be asking for quite a bit for them to make 9 new elite specs, and then a new class AND have to develop two elite specs for it to keep it in balance with the current classes and elite specs. And then what for the 3rd expansion? You expect a new class again? With 3 elite specs of its own? Plus 10 elite specs for the ones that came before? They’re not doing this. They already said they aren’t.

I’d be more excited for more than 1 new elite spec per profession being added than I would for a new profession. :]

Junundu multi-person mount speculation had me experiencing flashbacks of certain FPSs… these may be a real thing in the Sulphur Wastes assuming that zone makes a return.
