Chronicles of Cantha

The races of Tyria sail towards Cantha ,as Zhaitan’s influences are dying, to discover its mysterious past under the rule of Isolationist Emperor Usoku, the displaced Tengu that once occupied much of the lands of Cantha become a new playable race as the Tyrian races along with the Tengu start diplomatic talks with the Isolationist humans of Cantha to open their doors again to non humans and join the races in a united fight against Kralkatorrik.

New Race: Tengu
New Profession: Probably Ritualist?

The Elonian Exodus

After forming a new Alliance with the Nation of Cantha, the Tyrian and Canthan forces now embark on their new journey to Elona, once a rich bountiful Nation, now a Nation in shackles and controlled by Palawa Joko, the players meet up with a new playable race, the Centaurs, despite the bad reputation they have with humans of tyria these Centaurs followed the leadership of Zhed Shadowhoof who saw a group of human heroes put aside their differences to free his people from the enslavement of Abbadon and Varesh

Together with the Tyrian and Canthan forces, the humans and Centaurs of Elona unite together to free their land from the yoke of Palawa Joko and defeat Kralkatorrik.

New Race: Centaur
New Profession: Paragon?

Return to the North

After the victory over Kralkatorrik the united races of Tyria (the world not the continent) now look to the north, the reclaim the land of the Norn and the Koda from the Dragon Jormag and the corrupted Sons of Svanir.

New Race: Kodan
New Profession: no idea.

Thats about it for my predictions.

I was just thinking about this last night. I don’t have any predictions, but I’m curious as to how an expansion will be done.

Will there be more personal story?
A level increase? How does all the time invested into legendaries get effected by this?
I assume there will be more hearts, DE’s, vistas, skill challenges and such.

It’s hard for me to think about what’s going to happen next.

Level cap makes level increase redundant, imo anyways, and in the last 4 guildwars campaigns its always been max level at 20.

As far as Legendaries go, they’ll probably make them with the continents flavour in mind, just a speculation.

And pretty much your personal story will be carried onto the new expansion except you wont have the new expansion’s tutorial as your story.

Its also pretty easily done with the method Guildwars2 chooses to tell a story, branched out beginings that meet at a common point.

I’d imagine they’ll do it just like GW1, which was a great model. No level cap increase, so that the majority of new content is relevant to people who are 80.

I think it’s pretty obvious actually, we’ll go after each dragon one by one. This seems likely that we’ll get some of the same areas of GW1, as those areas hold the other dragons.

Not without first reuniting 2 human nations first.

the Human race is dwindling with just Divinity’s Reach as its stronghold, we need Cantha’s army.

It would be awesome to see the new reformed Cantha. Since the imperial army ended the little civil war between the Luxons and Kurzicks.

Also to see card board city will these new graphics would be amazing.

Lets not forgot about Palawa Joko. It’s been 250 years since we released the Lord of the Undead to help stop Abaddon. He now currently rules over all of Elona, built a dam on the river flooding the crystal desert. Seems there is enough content and story there alone for an xpac to retake Elona

Not to mention there is a door to the cystal desert down in Ebon Hawk.

I think we’ll see an expansion regarding the Largos at some point. They seem deliberately mysterious and vague, yet well-developed and thought out enough that there’s a lot more planned for them. It even says that they fled horrors that had invaded their home in the deep, so there might be a whole ‘nother dragon down there we don’t even know about.

Playable Largos would be awesome, imho. They remind me of the Quarians from Mass Effect, except with wings and the ability to teleport.

I actually feel like Guardians are a more direct analogue of W/Mos. At least, I’ve been quite successful playing my Guardian in almost the same way I played my W/Mo.

My Warrior I play more like my A/W crit build from GW1, with the only exception being the slightly heavier armor.

It would be awesome if they brought back the Ritualist. But doesn’t the Engineer already sort of do what the Ritualist did in GW1? They put down healing and damage turrets like the Ritualist could (except they were spirits).

Anet stated that they will be doing expansions very different than gw1. While it was good, it was unsustainable and took way too much time. There will be level cap increases. There will not be new tutorial content. The effort required to create new tutorial contet wastes too much of the development cycle. Raising the level cap allows easier balancing of new content for higher difficulty

I don’t foresee new classes, but instead new weapons and things to make existing classes deeper than they already are. They spoke some time ago about wanting to have all the play-styles covered from the get go, because constantly adding professions only causes more problems. Maybe we’ll see monks, or paragons to even out the armor availability.

Tengu and largos will become player races, either at the same time or one following the other. I feel kodan are just going to be this game’s furbolgs, wanted by a vocal lobby but never offered for a variety of reasons. Tengu and largos, on the other hand, compliment one another and have everything needed in them to become compelling player races.

Kodan, while a popular choice (on forums, anyway), don’t quite have the makings of a player race yet. For one, you have a very limited breadth of customization options to work with. Sure, they could expand this as they did with asura, but making a race of polar bears suddenly show up with grizzlies or something might be a little jarring.

No manes means no possibility for hairstyles, and their eyes would span various browns and blacks. I’m aware they could decide to change any of this, but I feel like it would compromise the artist’s original vision and dramatically cheapen what everyone loves about them so much.

And, beyond their voices, males and females look no different from one another. Changing all of this to make them a player race would feel, at least to me, very Blizzardesque and a little disappointing. I’m surely not alone in hoping that new player races won’t all be spins on various beasts. Cats, birds, bears… I’d like to see a little more.

Largos feel like that little bit more. For all the fanfare they caused, charr are one of the least played races right now. They look pretty awkward in many armors, so I’m afraid tengu wont’ be very different in that regard. Something to counterbalance the colorful birdies would be very good to have in that first expansion. Something darker, like largos.

The contrast would feel very similar to the Luxon and Kurzick nations. We’re also immensely helped out by largos in the personal story, and there’s NPCs along Malchor’s Fall speaking of numerous largos helping refugees in the area. Note the Sea of Sorrows and Strait of Malchor is large enough to offer room for both races, too.

It all just falls to how big and how frequent expansions will be. Any new races will probably be added sooner than later, because it’d be much easier to write them in while everything is still fresh and flexible. We’ll see, and in my case, I’ll hope that I’m at least somewhat right. That said, I hope those wanting kodan can somehow get their wish someday. At least you have tonics.

Raising the level would be foolish, they proved with guild wars 1 that it was not needed to create new content.

Cantha can’t come too soon for me. As much as I hated Factions when it was released, it’s become my favorite of the original campaigns. I just hope when and if they do open up these areas there are recognizable landmarks – places that are clearly (and can be identified visually as) the same spot in both the old and the new Guild Wars games.

In other news, I really hope they don’t raise the level cap. I hate that. Truly. It’s like moving the goalposts back another 10 yards every football season.

The table is a fable.

I would love new races not sure about new proffesions ( I have suggested specialization of current classes instead) but I think the game would benefit of a medium sized expansion that only adds 80+ areas to reclaim the Norn lands, meaning taking the battle to Jormag.

This will give a lot of longevity to the current game and give them time to properly flesh out Cantha/Elona…. or as many rumor the Largos UW area.

Cancer is also a Zodiac sign.
