Expansion or Open the world up?
I reckon they will announce one in a few months, Now that we are about to finish of the main bad person.
Same situation here, Mistress Red Death… believe me if they want their game to actually grow, they already know they need to get their crap together and start changing things drastically.
I eagerly anticipate to see what they’re going to do. I hope it’s not underwhelming.

Well I know they work kitten it, but it feels like a big grind to me now. Giant pile of people and constatnt chaos. Achievment grind. Scarlet was fun the first two, three months, but an entire year was too much. I liked it when they had different living stories, they weren’t all about the same thing.
Just build me a bridge to the Crystal Desert and I’ll be happy.
That would be awesome! Magumma Jungle would be great, too.
Agreed with the Crystal Desert… and dear god please release the rest of Orr while you’re at it.
As I mentioned somewhere else:
We need no Cantha and we need no Elona.
We have got:
Magus Falls
Maguuma Desert
Ring of Fire
Janthir Isles
Home of the Blood Legion
Deldrimor Front
Wooland Cascades
Scavangers Causeway
Far Shiverpeak Mountains
Crystal Desert
Hell only with the Janthir-area they could fill a complete expansion. Every of this regions is big enough to contain 3-4 zones at least. That are more than 40 zones within the map we got NOW. That is incredibly huge.
I think with LS 2 we will go to the Magus Falls and get some story about Malyck and the other pale tree and that will for sure take +1 year to finish ( with Mordremoth ). Hell, I never saw a game with so many potential like this. There is enough space for them to add zones in the visible map for 10 years.
The actual map is so huge, that there is no need in other continents for the next years.
I am sure they will open up (more than one!) zone in Magus Falls, dealing with Mordremoth and its story.
For gods sake anet, you have an entire WORLD here. You have so much to expand to, You havn’t even finished the continent of Tyria either. Stop this LS bullkitten and take some time off this 2 week content garbage. I would rather wait 6 months and you release cantha/elona and more of Tyria with new races, weapons, skills and the sort. Actually use the map you have and expand the world ! It’s sad to see a game with so much potential go to waste.
To be honest, the cancelled 4th guild Wars 1 campaign, Guild Wars Utopia. If that was released I would go back and play that.
Expansions please!
The problem:
After the bug fest and disappointment of the LS, I for one am not willing to spend any money for an expansion of this game. So many bugs have been here since before release.
As a result, they would split up the community into different zones, a thing that ANet tried to avoid like hell (for obvious reasons) and that would be very counter productive. Additionally, they do not want empty zones in early gameplay, new players will just see barren playfields and get frustrated.
We get one new zone for Mordi, and the new LS will just keep pushing us in mid level zones again. It is ANets disappointment that people rushed through the zones early and ignoring all the effort put in the zones, that is the reason for them to send us back with the message:
“You better take a second look at what we created! We spend sooo much time on it, and you barely spend some hours in it. Shame on you!”

“You better take a second look at what we created! We spend sooo much time on it, and you barely spend some hours in it. Shame on you!”
The thing is: they are right.
Every zone is crafted with devotion, you can see that in many ways. It’s a shame when people rush through them without even knowing, where they were.
And we still play GW2 – level doesn’t matter that much.
Expansion..or open the world up? Must it be either/or?
I’m not sure we will see an ‘expansion’ in the usual sense. Nor do I think ‘expansion’ means new continent. The only real expansion GW1 had gave us more Shiverpeaks area. From the looks of things, right now, we may be exploring some more of the Maguuma Jungle. Sounds good to me. =)

Still those zones have the stench of old on them, especially for those of us, that have completed the maps.
So you punish those who actually played the game by sending them back to what they have already seen. There is no feel of progression.
This is boring.

Just Woodland Cascades+Magumma+Magus Falls would suffice for expansion level content.

Speak for yourself. I have no problem going over an area I’ve already been through because I’m always finding something I never noticed before.
The problem is you, not the game.

Problem solved.

That’s it. ANet could do 3-4 “expansions” just by filling their now existing map.
I am sure we will see zones in Magus Falls soon.
