This is a suggestion but since I noticed the suggestion forum was archived, I decided to put it here. I am also not sure if this was posted at any point as well so sorry if it was. I want this topic to remain positive.

These are the scrolls that pretty much levels your character up to level 20. You can get them on your first birthday and though the Massive Achievement Chest. Right now I have four sitting in my back. My problem is that all eight of my characters are above level 20 and I do not want to delete them to use the scrolls. Now three of my eight characters did not have their first birthday yet so I will be getting three more eventually. If they are going to be given out on the second birthday as well, that just more scrolls and i would hate to see a person with 20 character, which each will get a scroll on their birthdays.

I was wondering what can’t characters use them above level 20, just to get skill points. Here are some ways this could happen.
1. Use them only for skill points, earn the actual levels the hard way.
2. Able to use as is but add a second feature that characters above 20 can use them for skill points.
3. Give them out as is but the ability to double click on the scroll and bring up an option to get 20 scrolls of knowledge instead if a character is over 20.

Again I am sorry if this was discussed already but it has been bothering me and taking up some space in my bank.

I think that the decission to put these in the birthday gift was a bit of a bad decisision by Anet. The reasons are clearly indicated as well. So I’m 100% for a re-evaluation for the content off the 2th year birthday. Given the critique on the queen Jenna miniature and the soulbound status means that only the booster is approved as welcome by the community.

Changing the first year birthday gift is something that likely is very complicated. Some destroyed their boosters, some have used them, but would have made different decissions when your proposed change was being introduced.

So I think it is best to leave them as it is but concentrate on the 2th year birthday gift.

My mom recently got 65, having not an idea what ti give her I just asked and that is something that is very common to do.
So my proposal is that Arenanet uses the CDI to ask us what we would like for our characters birthdays. Off course there is no real hurry, so it doesn’t have to be really soon.

On the 4th weekend in August of last year, all 5 of my characters had their first birthday.
And on that day I received:

  1. 5 Mini Queen Jennah. They are account bound, put it in the bank and any character can use them. So what good are 5 of them?
  2. 5 Level 20 scrolls. After one year all my characters are already Level 80, so no value there.
  3. 5 Birthday Boosters. All are still in the bank.
  • Even if the Minis were sell-able, who would buy them if they were sure to get one within one year?
  • After playing for one year, did anyone have a character they were playing for a year that was <L20?
  • The Birthday Booster. Ok, this is useful so no complaints here.

Yes I know, it was a free gift and I really should not be looking a Gifthorse in the mouth, but somewhere…someone thought ‘hey, everyone is just gonna love this first birthday gift’.

I know regifting is kind of tacky but since everything is Account bound even that is not an option.

Maybe, just maybe next August will bring a better fare?

Having more queen minis means you can have on all your characters so you don’t have to move them from char to char.
Lvl 20 boost ,i had only 2 lvl 80,came in handy for my 3rd char.
Birthday gift…i think everyone likes that buff.

I love these. Just created an alt and getting it to 20 right away was awesome. I do think though that second birthday should be different but I think these should still be obtainable somehow.

The skill point idea seems logical. Why not do it that way?

  1. Ok, granted. Do most people keep one on each of their characters? Maybe it is just me who dumped all 5 in my bank?
  2. I guess that it was just a poor assumption that anyone would have a character that was in game for a year and still be less then L20. I was thinking that it takes about a weekend to get to >L20 so to be less than that after a years time would barely be possible, I stand corrected.
  3. Agreed, the birthday buff is fine.

Anyone else care to chime in?

Just make another alt and use them, you’re not restricted to 5 characters.

Getting the SAME mini on every character is a bit silly imo, really should have just given a random series 1 mini like GW1.
