Hey guys. I’ve been checking the first few pages and I haven’t seen anything related to this. I have now 6 experience scrolls and absolutely nothing to do with them. I have all 8 professions and really have no plans on making any new ones, even though I have a 9th slot (unless ArenaNet introduce a new profession/race? which I don’t see it happening any time soon).
Is there anything you can do with these scrolls, besides deleting them? Seems a bit lackluster when compared to GW1 rewards… The mini’s you could at least keep them or sell them for gold if you weren’t that interested in them. These ones just make you stuck with an item. If you’re playing for 2 years, you probably already have a lot of lvl 80 characters, or at least above lvl 20.
Make something of an exchange NPC to trade them for… anything really? Crafting bags, random minis, collection unlockers, anything.

Well, since you have a free slot, you could use them to obtain BLTC chest keys. Just throw the character away after you obtain the key (by doing the Level 10 PS arc).

Better than just destroying the scrolls, I guess. /shrug

You can always keep them for later, you never know when you might wanna make a new race\class combination. Well with the current “npe” i actually can even recommend it more to hold on to these things…saves you a LOT of bs if you actually want to make a new char

As Inculpatus said, I just use mine to level temporary new toons to quickly complete Level 10 personal story content for farming BLTC chest keys. As a side effect of this I then use all the skill points gained to trade with the mystic forge merchant for philosopher’s stones and crystals for upgrading materials into higher tier ones; you can do the same for siege items with siege master guides if WvW is your thing. I then delete the toon and repeat!

They still feel so useless as a 2nd year reward though ._. first year I can understand, but second?

The first time I saw them, I thought they granted 20 levels. I was so happy, dude lol.

Then I realized the truth, and it was sad.

At this point they just clutter up my bank, in case Anet ever decides to pop out and say “lol APRIL FOOLS! They really aren’t as useless as we tricked you into believing! Here you go!”

At least make them not account bound. So I can share them with guildies/friends/the devil. Then they’d be useful!

What I should probably do (and I recommend for you):
make a new char, use it on it, do the personal story to get a key, convert all your skill points to philosopher stones (or crystals if you ever use those), delete char, repeat.
you’ll get keys, skill points, and random loot. skill points can be converted to gold at about 1-4g/SP. you now get 8 at level 20, so the scrolls are at least worth 8g right there.
save 1 scroll in case you do want to make a new char some time down the line (you dont need more, as you’ll probably get them for more character birthdays).
it was a recent stealth addition they did that made philo stones and crystals and other SP-bought stuff account bound instead of soulbound and I think it’s a great change
