So I discovered something today. In Orr at the Cathedral of Eternal Radiance during the event to take out the walls around the force field generators, enemies continue to spawn endlessly. This has become a prime farm spot. Lay down AoE, pick up loot. Drop an AoE heal whenever ready.

So the question is, is this an exploit? Some say yes and some say no. I personally say yes. The mobs spawning is to apply continuous pressure on the group trying to take out the walls. I doubt that they were meant to be farmed for hours on end.

I would say that they should make the mobs stop dropping loot after a certain amount of waves. I don’t think that people doing it should be punished for exploiting. I think that the event should be tweaked though.

I would say yes it is, enjoy it while you can soon it’ll get nerfed..

I think there was already a thread on this, if not a few. Probably could find it with search. =)

I’m not sure if it would be or would not be, never been there that I know of, though maybe I just don’t recognize it. =P

It’s abusive behavior, yeah. But the players are passively abusing it, not actively exploiting a bug, which is where I draw the line between “exploit” and “not exploit.” But yes, it should be fixed.

You can’t call farming abusive behavior in a game that forces you to farm to do anything. If they wanted a different approach they’d make rares worth using instead of just being good for t6 mats or mystic forge fodder. This is what they created..it’s definitely not an exploit. Go ask any of the people there if they’d be doing something better if there was a better way to do things.

Please don’t talk to me like I’m clueless. Making something usable and making something blatantly meant to be tossed in the mystic forge or salvaged is a big difference. At no point did I imply they’d be better than a higher tier.

You would never be able to complete that event by yourself A, B you go in there with a group to beat the event you still can. The farming unit doesn’t break the walls…that doesn’t mean the walls are broken and you can’t do it. So get a group and go do it, if not…stop bothering them as if they are stopping you.

Ah but here’s the thing. They are not stopping a group from doing it because they can’t. If they could, I’m willing to bet they would.

I encountered something similar to this. Unfortunately, we died. I did run back to get all that sweet loot though.

When it comes to choosing your skin for the end game some people even go with a green set (see Winged sets) because they look very pretty. So I have no idea what you’re talking about here.
So please tell me now in what way are rares not usable in this game?

Ok so now you’re talking about vendor gear and achievement rewards? Obviously you are oblivious to the loot drops in this game so there’s no point continuing that conversation. All I can say is I’m glad you don’t farm, hopefully you never wish to obtain a legendary or any other piece of gear that requires constant farming or TP camping.

Secondly, catching flack for going against the grain isn’t the same as them preventing you from completing the event. You said they prevent you..which they don’t. The event is still do-able…like I said before..Go Do It. I don’t understand why all the whining over something you aren’t even doing. Before people started farming the event, people rarely did them to begin with. To even find people in malchor’s leap is refreshing alone. So what’s your deal? Either go do the event or don’t. You don’t even farm right? so what does this even matter to you?

I did that today (broke all the walls while someone was trying to farm it). Got cussed out. Made me chuckle, I hope someone threw their mouse at the wall.

If it makes you gold, it is an exploit. GW2 rule of thumb.

It’s an exploit as in you’re exploiting the event by doing something not intended, however it is not an exploit as in you’re going to get banned. As soon as too many people abuse it, like every other event abused in this way, they’ll simply nerf it by removing all the drops.
