Well that would be disappointing. I was hoping to get my toons to level 10 this way. It’s what I did in Guild Wars 1 before finshing questions and moving on to the searing.
I was wondering why it was a good deal harder to level my newest character. I’m a big fan of just roaming around maps, and since you pulled in exp as well as come across events, it felt pretty nice.
Hmmm, kinda hoping one of those types who tracks little details in games will be able to confirm for us.
Anyone else cap the cities first thing and noticed a difference?
My other thoughts were:
1. Did I rush through the tutorial this time and not get enough XP there? That doesn’t really work though, since I’m looking at three levels different. I’ve never gotten out of the tutorial higher than level 2.
2. Was it a issue of XP bonus from WvW? I don’t think this is the case either, since my server is losing as often as winning, and the bonuses aren’t that large even when you’re dominating. Not sure if there even is a bonus that would affect this.

I can confirm they nerfed this. You used to be able to explore LA and all the major hub cities and get almost to 10. I did it yesterday with a freshly made Elementalist and got only to 5.5. Really hurts cloth wearers because regardless of the reports by these “reputable” publications you cannot pace your levels to complete a zone. My elem is currently only 8 and has completed the hearts in his level and gets owned at the others.
