Sometimes I like to visit the broken Hall of Monuments in Guild Wars 2 to talk to the NPCs, find some easter eggs and just compare it to the original Eye of the North. But I really find it weird that Party members cannot join you. The broken Hall could also work as a nice spot for Roleplaying and even to chill out with a friend or two.

Probably can’t join you for the same reason that someone can’t join you in your home instance if you use a home instance portal stone to go there. To join, some sort of interactable portal is needed, which this place doesn’t have. I don’t see them adding a portal anytime soon. That place isn’t important enough to them.

Be careful what you ask for
ANet may give it to you.

Yeah I think there are more important things for ArenaNet to work on, but it would be nice to be able to go there with people. Possibly for RP reasons too, but I can’t see it happening, sorry.

Slap a portal to it and call it Player Housing. Bam! Two birds with one stone!

I always have several accounts online and I tend to just be in an instance because it’s my favorite thing to do. The hall is beautiful but it is the loneliest thing to be there too alone.

Home instance stone would’ve also needed the possibility to take a party.

I think its to do with the rewards – if your friend hadn’t unlocked the same or any of the rewards that the merchant sells (gives you for free) or the exclusive pets that live there then they would have access without having ‘done the work’ to get them.

^My thought aswell.
If there was made a way to avoid guests getting those rewards without having earned them, themselves, I would be alright with inviting guests to that instance.

and those rewards have been problematic in the past. Odds are Anet isn’t eager to revisit that issue.

They could just repackage that instance into something new. Same layout. No vendors. The pets remain (non-charmable), but can now be ridden. Like the original Diablo, anything you drop on the ground remains there. Thus, decorating comes to GW2.

They can sell it in the gem shop and call it Player Housing.
