So now, with the wardrobe system, The Eye of the North is no longer of any real use once you have the skins, unless your a ranger and need to get the pets, but once you’ve done that, is probably never visited again. So what I’m asking is what people think ANet should do with the place. I have a few ideas.

1) Put bank access there. To chests are there from the original Guild Wars. They could be used.
2) laurel merchant.
3)’crafting stations.

If anyone else can think of. Anything feel free.

I know that this is like the queens terrace or captains air ship. I just don’t want to see this place made redundant. If ANet are going to do something with it in the far future. Then that’s great. I guess I’m just sentimental for the place as a Guild Wars Vet.

I was just there a few hours ago and thought the same thing! I got new armor from Tequatl so had to go and add my Heritage to it and then was all “Ohhhyyeeaahhh nopelol”

My first thought, poor Kimes the Historian, Anet didn’t think of him when they made him redundant. He deserves better.

I agree with crafting, but not merchants. To me this place was like a secret hideout privy only to the ancestors of old Ascalon, and it’s just weird having people hanging out there.

-Give Kimes something to do
-add Houseclothes, yeah I went there.

Not tonics either.

It is a little sad that TEotN not really being part of GW2. It would be real cool if you could maybe rehab the area as a personal storage. So instead of display favorite armor sets and weapons. Different keepsakes from the living story. That way the need to pack them in your personal storage.

YES!! Because as much as I like the trinkets, they really do just waste space. I don’t even use 95%of the stuff I have but can’t bear parting with it.

I still have all my starter armor and townclothes in bank kitten you not.

You can use it to get as many mini as you want … but yeah no much use for it now.

A bank access is a good idea, merchants and crafting stations is a bit too much.

So like…. if you have stuff from GW1 merge it with… housing??

OH MAN. I would LOVE to have a house plot based off that area. With a historian tenant hanging around my library. Who gives me heritage clothes. And potentially other trophies for HoM stuff.

/swoons at idea of housing <3

I had thought the same when wardrobe system came out.

Access to bank from anywhere for free!…no can do. Then, there has to be a reason why X is now there that fits with lore. Maybe one day in the future there will be a quest. The scrying pool somehow come back to life and will give us a vision of something!

Or it will be just something that we visit once and never again. I’m sure there are other places in game like that. How often do we visit Queen Jenna, or Rytlock or that place in Rata Sum?

Ah, nostalgia.

The Scrying Pool is where everyone should have to go to replay missions from S2 after it’s over. Would be a good addition. Since everyone can access the HoM, they should give us the ability to make it nice again. I was super bummed when all my trophies, armor sets, weapons, pets etc. weren’t there and it was totally dilapidated. Could have been implemented as an actual monument to our past accomplishments on a much grander scale than it was.

EXCELLENT IDEA!!! I love it!

I, too, was sad not to see my accomplishments…even if they too were fallen over and half destroyed…it would have been cool. But, oh well! There was also the issue that some characters had more than others…so likely couldn’t have been done anyhow.

You’re right. I have not visited the EotN since the game first came out. The only reason I went there was because I was curious. After that I never saw a reason to go back there.

The EotN should be overhauled!

I’d like to see some people there from the pact. Priory talking to the ghosts finding out the secrets of the Eye, Whisper agents finding hidden messages from the Ebon Vanguard, after all it was there base, and Vigil finding an old weapon stash that was used to fight the great destroyer. Then over time have it slowly rebuilt, maybe have it so you the player get mats for the restoration. And on e it’s fully restored, and this should take month or something like that you could have a truly epic reward, ANet could even make it the precursor scavinger hunt. Now that would be truly epic.

Instead people should head over to their WvW borderlands to access the bank via the crafting stations.

Though I like the idea of restoring it to have a similar purpose to the GW1 Hall of Monuments. A place that shows off our in-game accomplishments.

If you have earned a title in GW2, something in the Eye of the North changes to represent it. Something that anyone coming into your EOTN instance will see, unless we turn that thing off. Maybe something hanging on the wall. Maybe the achievement point title track that fixes up the structure.

Don’t limit us to just x statues in each section. Make room for everything to be displayed. At most, in the cases of titles where having title x also means we have title y, make us choose between them.

If we can’t now, it should be changed so that we can. Even if that means the pets vanish when you’re not alone like GW1 does with the Rainbow Phoenix.

Maybe even let us set our HOM public so that people can view it without us being present.

How could they possibly set it as public for people to view when you are not there? Would a list appear with every Display Name created in the game, and you would choose which Display Name’s instance to enter?

I like the OP’s idea. I just don’t see ArenaNet doing it as it would take away from their gemshop. They would even be in the negative with how many people would want refunds.

Or they could have it as a completely separate storage. Like a guild bank, but only accessible from the Eye. They could even charge for additional tabs. Like they do currently. So people who have maxed there bank space can have another.

Now that the Living Story is being changed to being always replayable, I think a good idea would be to introduce new monuments for each chapter. Then every time you complete a chapter you unlock a trophy (like Scarlet’s rifle, or something). There could also be monuments based on the log in trophies (legendary weapon/order membership/world completion/PvP rank), or even individual legendary weapon racks, wardrobe completion monuments, personal story monuments etc. etc.

There’s a lot of space there and we can already spawn our own instance whenever we want.
