Q:
FPS in this game
Maybe it’s the CPU that slows you down and not the graphics card? Guild Wars 2 is CPU-intensive especially with many people on the screen. That includes NPCs in the major cities.
Yep, what cpu do you have? I personally have a R9 290 but with an old i5 2500k (but still, 3,3 to 3,7 GHz) and I got pretty low fps (~30 to 40 in cities and ~18 to 22 during a WBT).
I disabled all reflects since I know it is very demanding on GW2 and indeed, in some places I can get +10 fps.
Character model limit/quality can tank your fps really hard. Try setting them to normal.
Try setting animations and high quality models to medium, helped on my end (970+3570K) with raising fps ^^
I also set frame limiter to 30, gives much more smooth gameplay IMO
Edit:
I can only speculate how much better this game would run on decent rigs if ANet did physics and such on the GPU (physics also applies to clothing btw)
25FPS at best <.< lol.
Time to upgrade my computer…… one day……. :’)

My CPU is the i5 4670K.
I would think it is enough for the game but I just don’t know what to expect. Obviously the game does not run as kittenome here seem to experience but as I have a 144 Hertz monitor I like to get it as high as possible. Especially during world bosses such as Behemoth I easily get drops to 24 which of course are understandable since there’s a very large amounts of people.

Any directX upgrade would be frigging amazing both for quality & performance but even that would probably never happen. I guess this also has to do with our fps problems.

A lot of people have been struggling with fps lately, something got messed up, systems that used to run 70-100 fps now only do 20-40.
I have Pentium Duo 3.2 Ghz and 4 gigs ram and Nvidia Geforce GT 730 MY specs are super low as you can see. But i have 110 fps max and 32 min. Of course at low settings
