Facebook app giving gems, etc ?
Link your GW2 account to what? Sounds a bit phishy. Maybe it was a scam.

You just add your account name into your profile. Scamm or not me and many other people got the gems but now this just seems weird cause there’s nothing floating around the internet. Even the reddit post got deleted(?).
The app was legit, though it was through a 3rd party.
People could exploit it and print as many codes as they wanted. Since there was 5000 codes being given away, 1 person could have easily obtained hundreds of dollars worth of gems. I would expect ArenaNet to ban for this however, though they might not, since it’s 3rd party.
But it’s not like your account name is sensitive or anything. It is your forum name after all.

Where you got this information ?
I don’t see how Anet can ban people who received gems. What’s the rationale?
At worst, you got phished.
At best, you got free gems for subscribing to a social tracker

The point of my questions isn’t about getting banned or not. I’ts just about getting informed on what happend to the ‘service’ because only a minor playerbase knew about this.
the app is totally legal ( cant find the source now, but i will edit this soon).
The problem is that some ppl abused the system and claim a lot of gems linking fake accounts… Is this legal? If yes, the system should be up again and let the ppl use it, if not, the ppl that abused must be “penalized” ( not means ban ).
So what´s the name of the facebook app?
It worked. But it worked to well, so they removed it.

see my post and you will see that Anet confirmed that is totally legitimate.
The problem is there was no limitation on facebook accounts getting codes, so people just made a whole mess of codes for themselves, so they took it down.

Hello all,
We did indeed start testing out a new application. We soft launched it, but have since removed it for further testing and usability. Thank you for sharing your concerns with us!
