Can anyone give me one good reason why falling damage should put you in combat?

The only thing it does is make you move slower and make you miss the next jump. To counter this after every big jump you have to wait 3 seconds, but why is this in the game? I really don’t get it…

Sigh….

Maybe they can explain that when they can explain why sometimes I take health damage when going down stairs.

a broken ankle inside a hostile zone might trigger your combat awareness (?)

Zerk is the average Joe build. Don’t pat yourself in the back too hard.

It’s probably not an intentional choice to ‘put you into combat’. The game is just coded to put you into the combat state whenever you take damage. They would probably need to write an exception for falling damage if they wanted to change that.

Also, how many times have you taken a painful fall in RL and immediately enter a full sprint or jump? Give your virtual body time to recover.

WAI. When you are not in combat health regenerates at a very fast rate, so falling damage would be neglectabble if it didn’t stop said regen for a few seconds at least.
