I created this post so I could share skills that I invented, and you could post yours.

Elementalist – Axe, offhand.

Fire: Flaming Ricochet – Throw flaming axe that returns to you, burning foes on its way.
Flaming cyclone- spin around releasing flame bolts, damage and burn foes.
Water: Frostbite – Slash foes with axe and chill them
Icy Spike – Throw ice bolt at your foe.
Air: Shocking chop – Chop your foe with axe, apply stun for 1 second
Air Bubble – Whirl around creating air bubble that pushes back foes and applies swiftness to allies.
Earth: Magnetic Chop – Chop your foes, than push them away with magnetic wave.
Magnetic Riposte – Block attack, push away foe with magnetic wave.

Mesmer: Shortbow

Mindsplitter – Shoot your foe with arrow, does more damage if foe is disabled
Illusionary Retreat – Jump back leaving a clone at your position.
Confusing Shot – Shoot your foe, and apply confusion
Illusionary Marksman – Summon Illusionary Marksman that attacks foes with rapid fire
Mesmerising Arrows – Shoot your foes with multiple arrows – Apply Stun, Daze and Blind randomly.

Necromancer: Sword, main hand. Torch, off hand
(sword skills)
Necortic Slice: Slice your foe, gain life force.
* Necrotic thrust*: Thrust your foe, gain extra life force for each unique condition.

Death Frenzy: Attack your foes with flurry of strikes, apply bleeding to those who hit you.
Deadly Leap: Leap to your foe, apply cripple and gain life force.
(Torch skills)
Consume Souls – Consume souls of your enemies, burn them and gain life force.
Bonfire of death – Ignite the area around you with green wildfire, burn and fear foes who cross it, trapped foes can not escape.

Engineer, Hammer

Bash – Bash your foe
* smash* – smash foe

Magnetic Blow – Slam your hammer on ground, knock foes back with magnetic wave.
Bombtag – Spin around throwing bombs at your foes that stick on them.
* detonate* – detonate bombs that are stuck on your foes.
Headbreaker – Smash your foe in head, cause vulnerability and daze.
Shocking Blow – Slam your hammer on ground, stun nearby foes.

Thief, Axe, both hands

Chop – chop your foe

  • Stealth skill: HeadSplitter – thrust your axe in foes head, causing extra damage if striking from behind

Poisonous Ricochet – Throw your axe that poisons foes on its way.
Blinding Cyclone – Spin around, blind foes

Wired throw – Throw your axe at foe, drag foe to yourself and apply cripple
Shadow Chop – chop your foe and gain stealth

Ranger, Rifle

Wild Shot – shoot a bullet that applies vulnerability
Bullet Spree – shoot multiple bullets
Hunt it Down – Shoot your foe, apply 5 stacks of weakness and 5 stacks of vulnerability, your pet gains swiftness.
Catch the prey – Shoot net at your foe, apply immobilise and cripple
Poison Bullet – Shoot your foe with poison bullet, apply bleed, poison, torment and blindness.

Warrior, Pistol, main hand. Torch, offhand

(pistol skills)
Battle shot – shoot your foe
Sharp Bullet – shoot your foe, apply bleeding
Knee shot – shoot your foe in the knee and apply cripple.

(torch skills)
Burn The face – Burn your foe’s face, and apply blindness and burning.
Campfire – Ignite the are around you, allies gain might, foes burn.

Guardian, axe, main hand. Mace, offhand
(axe skills)
Axe of Wraith – chop your foe
* Axe of judgement* – chop your foe and apply vulnerability

Symbol of Courage – draw symbol of courage that applies might to allies
Holy Feast – apply retaliation to allies and vulnerability to foes

(mace skills)
Holy Riposte – block attack, counter with blindness and damage
Mace of Faith – Rise your mace up in the sky releasing waves that heal allies.

Elementalist – Rifles

fire
/Fireshot – fires a quick ball of flame that burns upon hit.
/Immolate – creates a stream of fire that damages and burns foes it makes contact with
/Searing chains – conjures a long firey chain to immobilize and burn the target (combo finisher: projectile)
/Flaming Advance – charge forward, leaving a trail of fire and blasts the target area with fire (combo finisher: blast)
/Backdraft – fires a powerful short range burst of fire, sending you a fair distance back (combo finisher: leap)

water
/Frostbite – fires a bullet of ice, causing vulnerability
/Chillrend – fires a volley of ice bullets, chilling and causing vulnerability (combo finisher: projectile)
/Snowball – blasts the target area with ice, chilling targets inside
/Cascade – slams the rifle butt onto the ground, creating a circle of water that heals and bestows regeneration on allies inside (combo field: water, grants regeneration)
/Hoarfrost – stops slightly to fire a long range bullet that freezes the target, unable to move or act for (?) seconds and creates (?) stacks of vulnerability. (combo finisher: projectile)

air
/Static – fires a quick burst of electricity that damages the target and everything around him
/Shock – shocks the target and everything around him, dealing small damage and causing cripple
/Lightning retreat – instantly teleports backwards, causing a burst of electricity at the original position (combo finisher: blast, grants swiftness)
/Thunderwave – blasts the target area, creating an area that dazes people crossing it (combo field: lightning)
/Thunderbolt – takes a knee and channels momentarily before firing a long, concentrated bolt of electricity, causing massive damage (combo finisher: projectile)

earth
/Splinter – fires a normal bullet and causes bleeding (hits harder than other autoattacks)
/Masterkey – fires a scattershot, dealing damage the closer the target is and causes bleeding
/Magnetic shot – fires a bullet that, upon impact, causes nearby enemies to be pulled towards the target (combo finisher: projectile)
/Titanfall – jumps to the target location, dealing high damage and causing cripple (combo finisher: blast)
/Railgun – takes a knee and channels to fire an incredibly fast and dense projectile to deal high damage and splinters the target and everything around him, causing bleeding (combo finisher: projectile)

Well, that’s that. (: l faintly hope that if Anet needs any ideas, this would serve as some inspiration.

edit – the problem I encountered is that as things stand, attunement swapping is a must. Unless cooldowns are adjusted to encourage longer periods of time spent in each attunement, I made the skills with both that and attunement swapping in mind. It may not be the best weapon kit, but every skill were carefully considered with both theme and practicality in mind.

edit 2 – I also thought about adding different combo fields like smoke. Not too many, of course, leave that to staves. It’d be nice to see some form of stealth on elementalists, especially with rifles.

Sounds fun

  • Engineer Hammer
    ‘Fix’: Apply hammer directly to problem area.
    Engine Block: Briefly block incoming damage, if you are struck, lowers the recharge of Magnetize, Electrify, and Explosivate.
    Magnetize: Magnetize your hammer, the next attack pulls your target.
    Electrify: Electrify your hammer, the next attack stuns.
    Explosivate: Rig your hammer with explosives, the next attack deals AoE damage.
  • Engineer Cannon
    Fire: Fire a missile
    Cluster fire: Fire a spray of missiles
    Overcharge: Fire a shot which blows back target and adjacent enemies
    Party Poppers: Fire a missile in to the ground which explodes when approached.
    Unnecessary Force: Fire a barrage of missiles covering a large area. Large area high damage attack, very long recharge.
  • Guardian Cannon
    Holy Fire: Shoot a missile at your target. (AoE 900-1500)
    Symbol of Mana: Create a symbol which grants Vigor (900-1200)
    Halo: Create a ring of fire at range (900-1200)
    Bring the rain: (Channel) Fire a barrage of missiles at a targeted area (900-1500)
    Seat of Judgement: (Toggle) Immobilize yourself, but add higher range and larger AoE to all of your weapon abilities (cancelled on weapon swap)
  • Guardian Shield (main hand)
    The Keep>The Gate>The Wall: Attack, attack again, block
    Checkmate: Knock your target down and break control affects
    Symbol of the Cornerstone: Allies become briefly invulnerable (very long RC)

Daggers wielded by Sorcerors/Wizards is actually a classic in RPGs. More like ritual knives than slashing weapons.

Daggers wielded by Sorcerors/Wizards is actually a classic in RPGs. More like ritual knives than slashing weapons.

Exactly, as shown in the animations. D/D ele’s don’t ever cut people with their daggers but instead swing them about or channel through them to create elemental effects.

Still working on a elementalist MH Sword, have a lot of ability ideas but just can’t get it to feel cohesive. Until then…

  • Necromancer MH Focus
    Summon Doll: Summon a small cloth doll on a target, this doll chases down an opponent and attacks. Dolls move at 16.5% movement speed. Dolls last for 9 seconds or until they attack.
    Summon Patchwork Doll: Summon a small cloth doll, this moves to a targeted are and explodes, applying poison and vulnerability.
    Stolen Image: Summon a doll on target opponent, the doll damages itself and its target.

An ele with dual pistols would be fun or even a necro with his bullets of death from a rifle.
even a ranger with a rifle would be more fitting than a warrior with one smh what was gw2 thinking not giving rangers pistols or rifles
