Can you elaborate? I didn’t really understand what you meant.

You mean like how the current Megaserver already does, by gathering players from any server in the same instance until it reaches a certain number of players and then create a new instance and so on?

Charter Vanguard [CV] – HoD
Bardy Belzebuson – Ranger Sir Belzebu – Herald
(and the other 8 elite specs maxed too)

A little cryptic

You’re saying lock the nodes all in the same place so they no longer spawn in variable spots?

One is, nodes locked in one place (rich nodes) can only be mined once per char per day. Variable nodes respawn after a bit of time has passed. Locking them all might mean that they all now only respawn once every 24 hours. If you go to another map shard, they would still be used, just like the rich nodes.

Another is, all the nodes that are now variable would have to be fixed to one spot. That would take some work.

Be careful what you ask for
ANet may give it to you.

I think if I read this right, is that if you are on IP 170 (say instance 170) that if you moved instance to join a friend, say IP 169, that the nodes would be in the same place.

The nodes can still spawn in different places, just that they are consistent if you are on 170 and your guildie is on 169. It would mean nodes wouldnt move except when theres an update.

Thats how I read the OP. So, with that said, while I understand what you are saying, I disagree with you.
The nodes are mostly variable because farming is not meant to be totally consistent. If it were, you would find farming bots quickly appearing (port to WP xxx, walk 15 secs SE, 5 secs $ then mine etc). Farming maps are meant as a guide, farming and the profit from takes the effort of finding where the nodes are within an area.
