Farming, Housing
Is this a real post!
Farming as in grind—yep got that in spades.
Housing-never.
Everything is on the table. Nothing is off the table.
So you want our home instances to have a customizable home and a garden like in Farmville?
Isn’t this exactly what Archeage is doing?
Yes, but they require you to spend labor points for just about every action, which is unappealing at best.
I read this and thought, “Ultima Online”…
My, that was so long ago, but it’s still out there! I’m sure someone still plays it..
Hello all,
Yes I am new to Guild Wars 2.Just wondering will there ever be player housing and some kind of farming?
Awesome game by the way just need players to play with.Right now I am soloing and yes soloing gets boring after a while. :’(
I really hope so Imp.
However, Anet has never said directly that it is something they are going to do so I would just assume it’s a no. Maybe we will be pleasantly surprised someday but I wouldn’t count on it for those two features in particular.
Neither of these things involve any sort of combat so I doubt it.
Just like GW1 this game’s content is too much combat based. If only they looked at other MMO’s for inspiration for content then maybe this game may be just all that much better for it…

man I remember UO. I wish someone would make a new UO or SWG.
I doubt it for either housing or farming. They are selling nodes in the gem store, that’s the Guild Wars 2 version of farming. As for housing, we don’t even have guild homes after 2 years.
this thread and others inspired me to re ignite my “new building skill and player owned houses” thread, have a read!
also dont keep naming other games with housing and farming, the point is we want it in THIS game
One can hope Imp, I’ve personally been asking for those two as well as fishing for 2 years now. They are on a new direction so we’ll see.
LotRO had nice approach to cooking and farming. You could farm in special fields just about all the ingredients needed for cooking. I know cooking is cheap and such, but the prices of some finished products are really insane, considering it’s a short time buff only.
Too bad the only non combat thing to do is jumping puzzles and crafting (but you need to fight to get materials to that).
pls dont make gw2 into farmville pls
head here to discuss wvw without fear of infractions

Yes I liked LOTRO’s housing and farming. I loved fishing in WoW. If they combined those three into this game somehow it would be paradise.

UO pre EA was (and still is if we could roll back to that) the best and most complete MMO ever released… ironically it was also the first one. There was not a single MMO that ever came close to UO in the amount of things one could do ingame. That was the real second life in a medieval fantasy world (years before second life was even planned lol)
I remember once I was starving (you needed to eat there)(I was PK) so I killed someone in the forest, got some kindles from a tree (any tree not just a “gather-me” tree), light up a campfire (where I pleased, not where the game said you could do it), chopped the boddy, cooked the guy’s leg and eat it… all that while his ghost was next to me saying “OOoo ooo OOoo ooOO” because I didn’t have the skill to understand what dead players had to say (spirit speak). Amazing game is amazing.

They won’t make it into Farmville. They will make it into Farmville Wars 2.

If they could also throw in something similar to WoW’s archaeology system…. /drool
