Hello,

Like the title suggests, I’m looking to farm obsidian shards. I just picked the game back up after a very long time away about a month ago so, I checked the wiki and old forum/reddit posts and they say Silverwastes but to my understanding the silverwastes farming was nerfed. Is it still the best method or is there something else I should be farming?

Anyone able to help out?

What they mean by farming Silverwastes, is getting lots of Bandit Crests. Trade those in to the vendor in Camp Resolve for Obsidian Shards.

You get Bandit Crests by doing events. I think you can also salvage Silky Sand for those too.

You can use pretty much any currency sans dungeon tokens right now for them.

silverwastes the fastest way to farm them imho.
just do some event maps for bandit crests then trade bandit crests for keys and then find a chest train.

Build up karma, and purchase 1 or 10 at a time from “Cathedral of Glorious Victory” in Straits of Devastation.

Or farm Bandit Chests in Silverwastes. I tended to get 15-30 shards per run just opening chests.

Also make you are using the LFG to find a chest farm instance instead of just going into some random instance and looking for the chests yourself. I don’t remember much nerfing with the chest farming there except the really crazy one at amber in the beginning and the chests giving back more crests than the cost of a key.
