All that the level 80s had to complain about were bugs. Now, many of us are debating investing any more time into a game that may keep getting worse. How can we trust that ANet won’t take away the next piece of enjoyment many of us find in the game?

These bad anti-botting changes have ruined the game for many live players. It is a bandaid over a gushing wound that is inflicting more harm than good. If they are concerned with the economy, can’t they increase BoA and BoE rather than reduce drops.

Some of us LOVE our drops, and our crafted items. But, these changes are killing the crafting professions. The very professions that you need to grind before you can grind for your Legendaries.

Now, I understand that many people are still having fun playing the game the way they want to (exploring entire maps, bouncing around to find random events), but many people are really frustrated with the dictating of how we are supposed to play a game in a genre that we enjoy for its open-endedness. When there are no more zones to explore, you are left with bouncing around zones (looking for people doing a random event in the same area), PvP and getting guild dungeon groups together (pugging explorables is atrocious).

While this sounds like a lot to do, how are you earning your money and fine materials to craft after these nerfs? The dungeons now reward far far less SP and XP. The farming nerf requires TPing a lot and results in far less items/materials found. The DEs don’t reward that much SP either.

So how do they undo what has been done or improve it? Will they? Either way, I will not purchase another gem ($50 is a drop in the hat) until I feel comfortable with the direction of the game.

I don’t think the nerfs are necessarily bad, but I think they needed to come with some buff… particularly on the legendary items and dungeon equipment. If it’s going to be harder and take longer to acquire these things, they should be better than the exotic pieces you can craft. Not saying exotic pieces aren’t affected by this nerf as they now take a little longer to make as well, but relative to crafting a legendary or getting a dungeon set piece?…

I can say personally that it takes less time to craft the exotics, I made 3 pieces yesterday just off the stuff I got within an hour or so of running about in Malchor’s Leap. Yes, I did events and used the trading post to help, but I didn’t have to spend anything more than what I earned from that time I was in the zone.

I’m at work? If I could play it at work I likely would. How unfortunate for you that my dismal life, in your eyes, allows me to read forums all day and still get paid for doing it.

Pretty much. The reason the board was happier is that we didn’t have to deal with so many repeated threads.

I noticed I didn’t see a difference in in-game attitude, though. How interesting.

And you’re in no position to criticize Tradewind, Khaldar. You’re on a forum of a game you clearly bought knowing nothing about and insisting that ArenaNet should change their philosophy on the drop of a hat because you WoWites can’t grasp a game without farming. A person who enjoys the game is definitely more in-place on said game’s forum than someone coming here to complain about wanting to change the very ideas that game was founded on.
