World bosses give guaranteed rares, which you can salvage for ecto. Back in the OLD days, when we had a WB train going on our server, I could get 20-25 ecto in 1.5 hours. I haven’t done any WBs since the megaserver and change in times, but I know there are new timer sites set up.

World bosses, although the schedule has slowed down the rate of acquisition.

Note that a Black Lion salvage kit will give you the best ratio of ectos out of the rares, with Masters kit and Mystic Forge kit next, and about equal to each other.

Credit card → gems → gold → buy level 68+ rare+ items and salvage? I know, still using TP but it’s not buying ectos from TP. I couldn’t resist.

World bosses and temples come to mind for the daily bonus chest.

CoF, CoE and HotW dungeon is also a good way. Use the dungeon token of those to buy cheap rare at 30 token each and salvage them, it also give you a good amount of gold while doing it. CoF path 1/2 and CoE path 1/2/3 take about 1,5h in standard pug group and this will give you about 10 rare. With a usual rate of 0.75 ectos per salvage (mystic salvage kit), this will give you 7-8 ectos each day just for that.

World boss are also a good way. If there is a good group of people doing it at the same time, in 1.5 hour you can make about 6 World boss that will give at least 6 rare, but more probably gonna give more than that like 10-12 rare.
