Hi Guys,

What is your favorite glider so far?

I’ve a couple of favorites:

- My absolute favorite is the Phoenix Glider, elegant and a powerfull design. I realy like the trails of sparks & smoke and ofcourse the screams of the Phoenix!

- The Soul River Glider: The pure awesumeness of a glider with souls & screams popping off. Also I like the blue angelic wings!

I’m curious about your favorite gliders and why those specific gliders.

Glide-r-tron was the first glider I saw before it even became purchasable that I immediately decided to buy – I stocked up on gems almost right away and then had to wait two or three weeks before it showed up in the store!

Other than that, I really like the Exalted glider.

I really like the bat wings. Partially because ages ago I made a role-playing character who was basically my standard RNG character but with bat wings and cat ears (there was a reason for it, but it’s a long and very weird story) so I like being able to give her ‘back’ her wings.

But also because it’s a nice glider. I like the way the animation starts (it works especially well with the backpack, it looks like they’re actually unfolding into the glider) and I think it looks really cool without being too flashy.

I also like the HoT themed glider that came with the Deluxe Edition. It took me ages to realise it’s actually the HoT logo and not just green swirls, but it looks cool either way and it’s perfect for 2 of my characters and pretty good for 2 others.

I like the raven spirit glider too, even if it is freaking huge. It can be tricky to dye but with the right colours the way they combine is fantastic. Plus my revanant is a norn devotee of Raven so I had to get it for him.

Exalted Glider and Soul Glider.

Because I prefer simple, elegant designs that don’t have intrusive effects and don’t block other people’s view.

Interesting choices! Mayby the exalted glider will be my next investment:)

Electromagnetic Descender because it’s semi-transparent: I can see where I’m going and it has no clipping issues with back weapons.

Basically the feather family of gliders. I have 3 light armor characters, one in the white, one in the black, and one in the wings of love. All of medium and heavy armor wears ended up in some sort of ‘earth tone’ and gold variant, so the Hawk looks good on them.

What I’d really like for my old magic carpet and broom stick to be ‘granted’ a flight component to equip.

The Classical Glider.

Not sure I can pick a single favorite, but I do have a few that I really like.

Glide-r-Tron: The sounds and the position of the fans as you bank and use lean techniques are really well done. As I have a family of 8 asura, this is probably my most used glider.

Classical: Same as above, the wooden creaks and groans really help make this glider come alive, and it looks great too.

Soul River: I tend to watch the humanoid figures on the wings as I glide, instead of where I’m gliding to.

Bat Wings: This was my first glider, and I still use it to this day. Simple, and still looks great.

Wings of Love: I bought this one recently for one of my more amorous characters, and it suits her perfectly. I especially love that flourishing ding sound (I don’t know what it’s really called), and the railing hearts.

If a Broom Glider ever became a thing, I would definitely get that.

Classical for me. I only equip wings on asura, and those use the wing gliders to match.

I can’t pick one favorite.
I use whatever glider matches the theme of the toon that I’m playing.

Therefore I have most all of the gliders that have come out.
I have a bit of a gemstone addiction when it comes to fashion wars 2 ????

Yes, you are right to feel ashamed! Everytime I hear its sound, I am getting slightly aggrevated.

1. Spirit Raven. Too big, but Raven theme, come on. Also, dyeable.

2. Phoenix. Works super well for fire-themed characters.

The Classical Glider would be my favourite. IF I HAD IT

Celestial Rooster glider, because BUKAWK

My current favorites would have to be the Moth Wing glider (in spite of it’s absurd limitations for dye channels) and the Wings of Love.

I enjoy the white wings, but the wing model used for the golden wings would be preferable, as it is more realistic.

Wings of Love I like because it fits perfectly with one of my characters. I like the moth wings because even though they have some areas that can’t be colored, the two channels it does have allow for variation that makes some pretty patterns.

I still want to see the butterfly back piece turned into a 4 dye channel butterfly wings glider, and while it isn’t something I personally would want, I’m sure there are quite a few that would like to see the Aetherblade back piece turned into a glider as well.

I won’t lie, I was so tempted to buy that stupid glider because it made me laugh.

I use the raven glider the most because huge, bright bird that I can color is awesome.

Actually my favourite glider is the simple White Wing glider ^^ both as a backpack and as a gliding skin, it looks so nice and enjoyable on some maps, a bit dim on others, but that is hardly an issue, and the best part is how it does not keep popping in and out of existence as you walk/glide!

Of course I would love to have the Celestial Chicken glider… that one is just BEAUTIFUL! but… not on sale :c

How come I can’t see any humanoid figures? Can you provide a screenshot?

Oh! that glider is hilarious, at first I thought it was like little water speckles, but if you look closely, they look like feathers… but in fact, its just “tiny” soul people running and fall off as you glide!

I can’t get an angle on which I can actually recognize any such detail. It’s all “washy” from the movement. Do you have a screenshot per chance?

Edit: Oh! I took one myself, and now I see what you are talking about! They look like stick figures, heh. Love it even more now!

Edit: if you look at the white little things, its people stretching out their arms and running, it is hard to see in a still image, but those are indeed people x3

LOL, I edited mine before I saw your response. Isn’t that the Soul River from one of the Elona missions in GW1?

Oooh perhaps! I havent gotten to play that much of gw1 yet x3 getting there slowly!

So far, I’ve bought the bloodstone, electromagnetic, and raven gliders. I love the tendril look of the bloodstone and electromagnetic ones which are my go to “generic” gliders, but I got the raven one for my charr ranger. Now that I’ve seen the Phoenix glider, though, I may have to cave and buy that one too since my ranger is fire themed. If ever I’m able to get a fused molten longbow skin, I’ll be set.

The Raven glider – because when I dye it, I can make it look like a giant fiery phoenix. I love it on my fire ele.

I should get this one!

My top glider is the Crystalline Dragon Wings and its companion back item. I like the flapping animation, sound effects, and particle trails they leave. And the back slot item is the only set of back wings I like at all.

I have several other gliders, but my most used are Exalted and Bloodstone because they fit the armor styles/colors of a few characters. And the Electromagnetic Descender is just too perfect of a fit for an engi, or a decent general pick for when nothing else really fits.
