"Favour" system and small guilds
Yes, I was rather disappointed with these changes, too. I haven’t had the chance to try things for myself, but I’ve heard that some missions are doable by only two people.
As for guild halls, the amount of gold is definitely frustrating (I’ve not had had much more than 100 g at once, personally — 150 sounds really steep for anything). Claiming with a small group of people might also be an issue, but I think people have done it with 5 (had to be on their toes, though), and you can bring in people from outside the guild to help.
I wish you luck working around the changes. Maybe eventually Anet will alter the system again to help us tiny guilds, but meanwhile we’ll do what we can.

Doing missions guild without the number of players advised by Arenet requires good stuffs and perfect knowledge about his build.
That’s not my case… I love freestyle It produces some suprises (wrong or good) and an adrenaline rush :p haha!!
So… just a suicide mission guild without points of favour at the end to me :p

- We have not unlocked Trek, not enough points of influence due to irregulars account’s connexions and our guild-type: small = few players
- We have tried PvP (Bastion). We= totally inexperimented people in pvp, Team against us= experimented people, optimised stuff, perfect gamebuild. We lost… 20 vs 500. I hate PvP, no pleasure, no fun to do that – for me-.
- WW missions: depending the mission and the number of players against us… we have not optimised stuff (I love WW, play it sometimes but my guild members prefer PvE) and..
- I said 3 or 4 players who plays online on the same moment… if we are lucky. IRL priority.
So why Arenet just limits the obtention of points of favor to only missions guild?
Why the dungeons, fractals, WB, events on map played with online guild members aren’t know enough to justify this obtention?
I never said missions guild musn’t give points of favor, but in this game it exists others activities and i don’t find fair to not also reward it.
This is not a perfect solution and I agree that there should be more support for micro guilds but this will get you enough favor to claim your guild hall, with not much effort and without needing to be an uber-leet player:
Go to your guild missions tab and set the options to PVE.
Each week you will get offered an easy, medium and hard PVE guild mission. The easy one will often be a bounty hunt in open world and because it is open world there will be other guilds seeking the same bounty on the same map at the same time. So you can locate the target and tag along until someone aggros it, then get a few hits in and you will get the credit and 300 favor – more than enough for the guild hall. It really does only take a few minutes. Not sure what the other easy PVE guild missions will be but you at least have a simple way to earn small amounts of favor with not much effort.
Claiming the guild hall itself will require the help of a few non-guildies but it seems that there are some folk ready to help. Once you have the hall then it gets very tough to earn the upgrades as the amount of favor and materials required can be eye-watering for a micro guild.
The Missions are not that bad, most of them can be done by 4 players.
First you should change the Missions to the PvE ones and not the mixed (small gear in the Guild Mission Panel).
Even if it sounds difficult, try to make a fix date with your Guild Members, if you want to have a Guild that consists only of a few people, you and your members have to participate actively in this. Keep in mind that a Guild isn’t designt for just a handfull of players. So if you don’t want other people to join your Guild you have to bring yourself into it and that means a lot of dedication.
The new system isn’t making this easier for small Guilds. Now you can choose to play only with the Guild, this will open an instance where only members can join.
You can retry as many times as you want, so try it and hope for easy Guild missions. If you build the Market and the War Room, you can unlock a special WvW Mission Slot and a PvE Mission Slot (Arena for the PvP one), so you should make this your priority.
More Missions equals a higher chance of something that is possible for few players.
If you upgrade your Guild Hall a bit you will notice that you have to spent a lot of gold for the upgrades, so the favor will become a little bit less important

From your reply, apparently you already managed to get 3 people to do PvP. So, it is just another typical case of player problem.

It doesn’t matter if you had this mission unlocked in the old system, they’re all available to all guilds now. Without upgrades for further mission slots, you will be able to do three missions. You can pick one of the following options: pve only, wvw only, pvp only or missions from all types. The last option will give you 10% bonus favor and it’s the one that’s selected by default. You can change it in the guild mission panel, as Frostfire already mentioned.
Note: You can try the missions as often as you want. This also means that you could repeat the mission with your guildies if some of them haven’t gotten their commendations yet.
I’m not sure if it’s intended, but the following missions can be done solo at the moment:
- wvw oasis event: Gears have to be handed in from people from your server (3 for the easy mission, 10 for the hard one). Funnily enough, your guild will get credit for this even if no one from your guild handed in a single gear. You just have to be on the map and have the mission running – if enough gears get handed in for your server, your guild will get favor.
- pve guild rush: This can be done solo if another guild is completing the mission at the same time. You would have to hang out at the rush location and wait for another guild to start the mission and then start your own. Once the mission target of e.g. 15 runs is completed, you will be allowed to accept credit for your guild.
The biggest hurdle will come after you have your guild hall, though, because those upgrade costs are insane. I haven’t even bothered claiming a hall yet – upgrading is just too expensive in my opinion.

We will try your advices, but i still not understand why, points of favour are limited just for the victory in missions guild, where outside people (pick-up) can come, help you and gain points too BUT a dungeon, fractals, where you can also take a pick-up are not concerned.
I wish Arenet will place dungeons in missions guild: it will insist people to redo…since the downward of the rewards, it’s empty…
I agree, the influence system was a lot more user-friendly, because you could just play whatever you wanted and still gain the currency needed for upgrading. Alas, anet really seems to want to dictate how we play nowadays. :/

My guild isn’t exactly a small guild but we are only about 7 players activly trying to work on our Guild Hall out of 100, the rest just don’t seem to bother. Anyway, last weak we had Guild Trek and WvW Mission and PvP mission on our weekly opertunities, the Guild Trek was on hard and we managed it with 4 players. PvP mission was medium so we did it pretty quick and WvW hardest part was to find an outpost to take over and when we did we made it with just 3 players. This week we have (Have now unlocked PvE: mission opertunities), 2 Puzzles, 2 rush and one Bounty. For bounty we was just in time to join in to kill a bounty but we have managed bountys before with just 4 players, Puzzles on the other hand Requires 6 players and we have only been 4 online at the same time lately and Guild Rush well… We tried one and failed and then we tried the other becouse it was easy (Well difficulty on Guild Rush does not seem to matter) but it wasn’t anywhere near easier :P But we where in luck, there was a guild wainting for their turn and they helped us, so we managed to compleate that Guild Rush. A million thanks to that guild.
Maby one week now and then we “small” guilds won’t be able to compleate all Guild Missions but it is rather possible to do most of them with only 3 or 4 members. As you level your guild you will also open up more Weekly oppertunities.
I think this system is so much better as I don’t have to force players to represent and it feels like we are doing more progress like this. Influence system takes alot more time that earning favour, by just compleating one Guild Mission you can upgrade a new building but with influence we had to wait wait wait and wait to get enough influence and you had to do about 5 guild missions to get enough points to build next guild mission, our guild had guild bounty and Guild Trek after a few months… With the new system we now have Alot of different Guild Missions to do every week.

I think the content of the gw2 communauty is variety with small, medium and big guilds.The big problem with this new system is it’s not possible to gain “favor” without doing missions guild who require many people.
Before HoT, the “Influence” system was better for small guilds because we won points of “influence” just by account’s connexion or by the differents activities than we done alone or together (dungeons, fractals, wb,…). It allowed us to create banners and some little advantages. Now, it’s impossible.Recruitment is not a priority when you privilege your irl and your family life. We (small guilds) just want to have the right to have fun like before the favour system.
In my small and lovely guild <3 we have bought HoT and we desire to have our guild hall (as people who bought the extension) buuuuuut surprise!!! It needs gold coins (not a surprise, i played on gw1…) and.. favor! With our 28.256 points of influence and them conversion, we have only 100 points of favor (guild hall needs 150). As we are only 3 or 4 players who play every days and sometime on the same moment, and as now it’s impossible to win points of favor without missions guild, we are very frustrated!!! We want our hall guild but we want to play without changing our playing spirit and play together when we can.
So please, allow us to gain again points of favor like we won points of influence. Not a lot… no… just like before, without the obligation to do missions guilds. Please!!!
