Hey I thought we could make a thread to see what the majority of the people like

I would say mine is ele or engi :S

Elementalist for me i just love the level of tricks they can pull off and every thing feels so active.

Ranger, definitely. I know some people don’t like them, but I find that with the right weapon combinations they can be deadly.

Warrior. Simply because every other mmo i’ve been some for of ranged attack and a change of pace has been fun.

I’d also put in that its a norn. I’ve tried all the races and i’ve probably disliked certain class types because of the race i’ve chosen. Have deleted two Charr characters (necromancer and ranger) and two big eared fish faced characters. (necromancer and elementalist) Forget what they all called but dont like em.

Elementalist! I love zooming around and having such a fast pace play style.

Mesmer. Because they can do everything and are master supports.

Guardian……..dat survivability………me likey.

Necro for me, although I just made an ele last night and can’t stop playing her now.

I still hold hope in my heart that my original #1, my Elementalist, will some day escape the pit ANet has dug for him.

In the meantime, my Ranger and Engineer are tied for favorite, but that’s changed several times so far and I’m not sure it will stay the same from here on out. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if my Mesmer or Guardian or someone got a couple more levels in them and suddenly metamorphosized into my new obsession.

Guardian. I normally play a tank class, so it was a natural pick. I’ve tried out almost every class to varying degrees and I never get hooked on any of the others.

Fighter just doesn’t feel the same, and I couldn’t tell you why. I don’t care for all the stance dancing on Eles. I played Necro in GW1 too long to like the one here. ( I was pure blood magic. Leech ALL the mobs! ). I’m not a fan of pet classes so Ranger was out. I tried Thief and wasn’t impressed (PvE, I don’t PvP). Engi was alright but stationary turrets are a little annoying to me. I also don’t like trying to ground target all the grenade abilities over and over while staying mobile…but not TOO mobile, cause of the turrets…

Oh, yeah… I still have yet to get into a Mesmer. I’m hoping I like them, cause only having one character I play is burning me out a bit.

Hmm I’ve just tried ele and liking it so far just die easily in WvW

Ranger. Just a freakin blast to play.

Mesmer. Far and away Mesmer.

No other class has so many “I have a tool for that” moments. Stopping projectiles. Volcano fractal fire floor. Jumping puzzles. Stopping attacks. Killing siege before the patch. Resurrecting. CC immunity destruction. Buff purging. Debuffing.

Mesmer more than any other class feels like you’re handed a massive toolkit and told to get things done. Extra work, but you always feel you have an answer for whatever just happened.

Ranger. As someone said above, they are deadly if you master a playstyle you like.

Guardian.

I used to play warrior/theif/mage in (Insert Name Of The Game With Bhaalspawn) and 3rd D&D. They were painfully weak though, since you divide the levels even off three classes.

And then there comes the Paladins in (Insert Name Of The Game With Recent Panda Expansion). Gosh they were like…magical pewpew warriors, all in one package!

So naturally, it was Guardian from here on.

Guardian….I guess I just like the ability to support those around me, do some healing, wear heavy armor and use a 2H. Reminds me of my paladin in another game.

Ranger.

Everyone says it underperforms but somehow I muddled through to 80.

Why? I don’t know, I’m drawn to rangers in every game I play. I guess I like pets. Maybe I was over effected by Robin Hood movies as a youth (Who wouldn’t like a man in tights?). It can’t be the emphasis on bows, nah my warrior outperforms on a longbow. I don’t really know why but Rangers are cool.
