Aside from Legendaries, cause they have a special value

What are your favourite weapon skins?
Mine are the Fractal weapons and Golden Fractal weapons, or the realistic look of the Krytan skins.

With 10 level 80s and 3 being leveled, each with its own look or a look I’m expecting to use at level 80, it’s hard to pick out any favorite skins as the favorite skin depends on the char I’m playing and ranges from brutal and basic for my Charrior to ethereal for my Mesmer in her white, flowing armor.

As a set: zenith and HoM for both looks and free transmutes while leveling. The clockwork set for sound, animation and looks. The improvised set, as I think that one’s clever.

Probably the Gallant set. I’m more of a fan of realistic looking weapons, depending on the character. A personal favourite of mine is the Gallant sword, Jora’s Defender and t3 human heavy on a male.

Yes I love the Gallant skins, same with the Cavalier and Embellished skins, sadly I don’t have the gold to get any lol

I don’t like any set as a whole. I tend to cherry pick specific weapon skins for specific characters.

Rifles: Azure Railgun, Spectral Wave Modulator, Bloodstone, Super Rifle, Pact Shotgun, Pact Fleet, Machined, Velocitas Eradico.
Hammers: Aetherized, Mjölnir, Fix-R-Upper.
Shields: Aetherized, Beaded Bastion, Plasma.
GSs: Beaded Claymore, Plasma, Greatsaw, Foefire’s Essence, Dark Harvest.
Swords: Bonetti’s Rapier, Chain Whip.

Etc.

I really like the bloodstone skins so i collected all 16.
Timekeeper skins i like to and have several.
My favourite underwater is mirage.

I have so many characters with different weapon themes utilizing so many weapon skins (not to mention just the sheer number of weapons in this game in general) that its nigh impossible to actually choose favorites.

In terms of Black Lion sets or just weapon sets in general, I have the largest number of Dreamthistle and Dragon’s Jade weapons. So I suppose those two fit. I also have a lot of Ambrite weapons, partly because they look awesome and partly because they fit the themes of multiple characters. Priory weapons are very cool. Halloween weapons are up there just because I love Halloween (though this years’ offerings were kind of lackluster to me. I prefer spiders and pumpkins and bats to the more gothic stuff they added this year with Onus and such. Gargoyle skins were nice, though). I really like the overall color scheme of the Zodiac weapons, but a lot of the individual weapon designs are “eh” so I only have a few of them. Godskull and Beaded are pretty nice sets as well.

For individual weapons that aren’t part of sets, Arthropoda is great. A giant bow made from Karka legs, I like that idea of using animal parts like that. Ebb and Flow are really neat. Delusion is nice. Jormag’s Breath. All 3 of the anchor hammers are cool, and a big part of the reason I decided on “ocean stuff” as the theme for my Revenant was so I could use them.

I could sit here naming skins all day, so I’m just going to stop here.

The semi-transparent purple “misty” weapons like Whisperblade, Lyssa’s Gaze, Vision of the Mists, Mirage, and so on… I just wish we had a full set, I want a Staff. The 2 blue bows aren’t bad either (Azureflame and Aether) but I prefer purple. I like anything that is semi-transparent because that makes clipping less annoying…

Timekeeper, Scientific, and Spectral.

Royal Ascalonian weapons. Their nighttime blue fire goes really well with my ghostly outfit. Similarly I’m a big fan of the Spectral weapons.

Merciless, without a doubt the best looking weapon skins.

My favorite weapon skins in game is the Dragon’s Jade set. It’s like one of those sets no one remembers since the game never had another Dragon Bash. Plus if I remember correctly it was a one off event.

I’m currently collecting the set still have 10 more skins to get. It’s going to cost a lot of gold about 1,557 give or take.

Greatsword: Belinda’s, Reaper and Gallant
Shortbow: Shadow
Sword: Bonetti’s, Gallant and Merciless

I love the Merciless skins. Saving up to get them.

I like a lot of the Aether and Merciless skins and I like all the Privateer (though the axe will be my last one to get of those as I don’t like the bottom curl on the blade, useful blood flicker though that may be). I’m very fond of Ebonblade/Cobalt and any other realistic looking weapons that look cared for rather than rust-pitted and wood-rotted. I love all the rapiers; I was a fencer for a number of years and RL have a few rapiers of my own.

I’ve gathered up a number of blingier BL skins that looked pretty to me at the time only to realize that I almost never use those for actual in-character fighting looks because I don’t believe in them as combat weapons.

I love the mist weapons, they are a lovely shade of purple and go well with my characters who can use them as they are usually decked out in purple dyes.

My favorite weapon collections:

So not including legendries. With one handed swords I like Jormag’s Breath. Might be biased because Frostfang is my favourite legendary, Jormag’s Breath is kind of if Frostfang was a sword thats what it would probably look like.

I know you said no legendaries but I listed my favorite 3 of each.

I change them, but they have all something in common;
they sparkle/glow/are bright in some way – except my staff

Dragon’s Jade skins (all) – I would love it if they did a tiger version of that type of skin.

Most of of the Zodiac skins, especially the bows.

I also like the Dwayna skins.

Apart from my personal favourite legendaries of course.

I love the Ascalonian Greatsword because it actually looks like a greatsword. Big wide and really nice detail on it.

Dark Harvest for the same reason as above, it’s small particle effect is good too.

The Antique weapon skins, (standard ascended skins) are really nice too, subtle effect on them but intricate details, they also actually look like they should when you imagine them, not too big or small, not gawdy. You even have a choice of colour! So great for Fashion Wars.

Horoligicus. My favourite shield skin closely followed by Glint’s Bastion.

Bo. We need more symmetrical staves in game for melee users, but this skin is so intricate and perfectly proportioned.

I have a few other non-legendary favourites, but these stick out the most.

really varies per character.
For example, my Warrior I try to keep a Destroyer look, so its mostly all primordus weapons or weapons made of stone

tempest weapons i really like all if only they weren’t all darn expensive.
then there’s the shadow weapon especially longbow.
and the timekeeper cause clock sounds are nice

I love some of the dominator skins.
My daredevil and revenant use the dominator staff.

The Grinning Shield and Fractal Torch are my favorite non-legendaries. Like them more than their legendary counterparts.

Twilight will always be my favorite weapon, though.

Depends on the character. One of my elementalists, a very light-skinned, blonde norn with white and winter blue dyes, uses the wintersday staff, scepter, and focus. The swirling snow globes go great with the look (and the snow shoulders have only added to the outfit ). Since I don’t like the dagger that goes along with that set I use the mistforged hero dagger instead.

Another one of my favourites is more of a fun weapon, the toy rifle. My asura golemancer carries that one and loves to shoot corks at stuff while his golems do the heavy work.

My main ele, a green-skinned (or green-barked? ) sylvari, uses Usoku’s Needle in combination with Essence of Time, another of my favourite sets. Her dragon’s jade staff is among my favourites, too.

Then there is, of course, Bo, the main weapon of my charr druid. The elegance of that staff works well with his monk’s outfit (yeah, charr medium is just too much of a pain to find decent armor for the poor guy ).

There’s a lot more I like (and many many more I find absolutely horrible ) … too many to list here really.

I, too, am a fan of the Gallant skin set.

-Spear: Kamohoali’i Kotaki. My favorite weapon skin in the whole game but it’s limited to water so I never made it. :< Nothing can compete enough to even be known to me.
-Torch: Rodgort. Love it and wish my Thief could use it ;o 2nd place would be it’s precursor, lol.
-Dagger: Incinerator
-Axe: Frostfang. otherwise Aetherized. I don’t own either of them though and use Immortal Axe just cuz I didn’t have much use for the box and have nothing special for that tier of weapons.
-Pistol: Tough battle between HOPE and StormWizard/KaiserSnake’s beautiful sound effects and shinyness. :>
Shortbow: Chuka and StormWizard as well cuz the sound effect is more soothing.

Those are the Legendaries that pretty much win over the entire weapon type for me.
As for other skins more normal ones are more appealing atm than the Legendaries available for them.

-Sword: Mistforged Hero Sword/Xiahou Dun’s Sword. My favorite non-legendary skin in the game.
-Staff: Great Destroyer Scythe. Loved it since GW1 and now it’s finally obtainable.
-Hammer: Phoenix. Bigger is better. Too bad I had to sell it long time ago cuz I needed the gold and there wasn’t a hammer class I liked enough.
-Longbow: TimeKeepers. Reminds me of Prime weapons in Warframe.
-Greatsword: Belinda’s
-Mace: Shadow. Another skin I liked so much I bought it but just ended up selling it because I didn’t use Maces on any of my classes.
-Focus: Elegant Fan
-Warhorn: Kaiser Snake. That beautiful sound.
-Shield: Zodiac
-Scepter: Mistforged Hero. Been wanting to make this for years but they never did another WvW tournament. ;/ I like how it’s so small it looks like a focus.
-Rifle: Bloodstone or Fractal

I’m not really into weapon skins, but here’s a few I like:
Sword: Shimmering Sword, Tenebrous Sword – sleek design and subtle animation
Spear: Impaler – simple but nice looking animation
Focus: Ambrosia, Courage – good for RP’ing a hard-drinking toon
Mace: Moonshine – ditto

the WvW weapons skins, forgot the name.. “hero something”…

Probably the corrupted set as a whole (I dislike the impermanence behind the AC set as I like them either having blue flames or not having blue flames, but not both since it doesn’t match up with base skin colors/aesthetics), though I think Gallant is a close contender as well.

The pure white is amazing to me
Dominator I also love.

Otherwise you guys are doing great except for the few that listed Legendaries anyway, nice to see all the different things, I wasn’t expecting corrupted weapons mentioned, for example
