Okay, while I agree with everyone on most of the issues surrounding the latest blog post, I’ve decided to try and start up a topic to try and keep some positive discussion going forward. So let’s ask the question: What do you think next weeks updates will contain?

Looking at the description: “In the September 2014 Feature Pack, we’re rethinking the way you collect and trade items!”

I really hope that this means we may finally be getting an actual trading system like we had back in the original Guild Wars. How this game made it 2 years without a basic feature like that is beyond me, so that would be a really welcomed change.

This could also maybe bring with it updates to the trading post. Maybe finally letting us sort through armor by light/medium/heavy? That’d make things a ton easier helping to gear up my characters.

Also, I have a slight ting of hope that there might be something very interesting coming up with regards to rewards because they mentioned the way you “collect” items may change. Trying not to get too overly optimistic for that, but still hoping they might have saved their best for last.

What’s your thoughts on next week’s features?

Also, let us just take this moment to hold hands and offer a collective pray to Kormir that its’ no the VIP system. Kormir has never let us down before and she will no doubtfully see us through this next week unscathed.

I wouldn’t get my hopes up about person-to-person trading. The trading post tax is a pretty significant gold sink for high-end transactions, and the current system also keeps trade spam out of the chat. I highly doubt they’re going to backpedal all over that.

Personally I’m quite afraid for the changes next week. So far, most of what they’ve announced was either addressing an issue the players asked about but missing the point, or addressing an issue that nobody asked about in the first place. I’m not too hopeful that this won’t continue into next week.

I sure hope for their sake that one of those announcements has something to do with precursor crafting.
Well, i know I’m gonna grab some popcorn and read the forums.

The first thing that came to my mind about the Week 3 description was that we will finally be able to trade items without having to mail them to each other. It was such a risky system that you could only really trust with your friends and guildmates. I’m really hoping this goes through.

The TP sorting is also an excellent idea. “All right, let’s look at level 80 armor… exotic headpieces only… And yet I still have to droll through two-thirds of equipment I can’t use.” A small, but very useful change, if this goes through as well.

I’m not sure about the “collecting” change, but I’m thinking they’ll just refer back to today’s reveal regarding new rewards for each level. That is technically “collecting”, right? On the other hand, they might buff the poorly-designed RNG systems, or allow mobs to drop a greater variety of items.

Unfortunately, as wonderful as these changes could be, they are small features that should have been included at launch. But they do have a full week to discuss the new changes, so maybe I shouldn’t bring myself down like this. I can say, though, that if the changes being made are mostly unsatisfactory and insignificant to veterans, hell will break loose.

I agree. Anything with regards to precursor scavenger hunts would be enough to make me happy. I don’t even care much for legendary weapons, but to know that we finally got a feature we’ve been asking for since launch would be a breath of fresh air. That said, I am remaining skeptical.

If they were to announce anything big though, I’d imagine it would be during their last week. So lets hope!

Seeing how underwelming the other 2 weeks were, I’m expecting it to be a very very slight adjustment on the prices of teleportation / AH / vendors, and the visual rework of the collection bank.

EDIT: On the possibility of VIP being introduced in this game, I will just go straight forward and say: If they ever implement this in NA/EU, I will not only uninstall this game as I will activily promote the non-acquisition of this game from anyone I come across IRL and in the Interwebs.

That’ll be the big surprise at the end that ANet’s been “excited” to tell us.

“And finally, to make our veterans feel truly wanted, we will release the VIP system into the NA/EU clients! Fill your bank with (mostly useless) booster packs, and access them from anywhere for 30 days! Access the Trading Post with VIP 14, and teleport to your friend’s location with VIP 19! Normally, this would cost 1250 gems for a 30-day VIP subscription, but because of our wonderful and dedicated playerbase, we have reduced the price for our veterans down to only 1200 gems for a 30-day subscription!”

Yeah, I’d leave if that happened.

With the storm generated by tags being 300g per colors, which they ended up changing due to the uproar, I hope they aren’t dumb enough to think that doing the VIP system here is a good idea.

I hope it is a fix to the TP the light/mid/heavy armor sorting and maybe also attack/vitality/condition damage. Almost always when looking to start new builds I have wiki open to know which armor has what stats. A new player to player trade option would be nice.

idk looking at Anet’s recent acts VIP system actually might come to NA/EU clients. They might include VIP only contents which consist of dungeons, revamped traits, balanced professions and even new races and those poor kitten “players” be happy with living story updates

I expect something maybe like this:

Junk Items get finally NPC’s that want all this grey garbage that we get dropped 90% of all cases, so that we can turn that stuff in for something useful…like, you guess it blues and greens ….

Certain Items, that didn’t stack before, will stack now after this Patch perhaps

The material UI will get changed to make it better overviewable for all the stuff that we collect.

Ascended Items will hopefully become sellable in TP or at least salvageable to get T6/7 materials/lodestones out of them

Trading Post will get reworked to improve its functionality.

Trading Post will allow Payment now also with items to trade items for items insead of buying them only with gold, letting it function basically like in the middle age if you prefer that style of trading in the style of give me an apple for an egg

Personally I like the idea behind sub classes ~ quoted from Chris Whiteside

now that i see the topic for next week…..i expect further minor/un-asked for features. blek.

but to keep it positive……
i would genuinely be happy if one of these features improved auction house functionality: more specific search categories and possibly an item-for-item bartering system.

Did that hire Bill Roper to ruin another game or something. Honestly I’m feeling like this game might be getting flagshipped over the past 6 months. They are spending time on content no one wants, and not on the content their player base desires. Getting blind siding in the past couple of interviews should have made them rethinking their priorities.

Another week of nothingness I think. Sadly they seems to have only the LW team (already burned out) and 1-2 devs aside of them for absolutely everything else. This fix patch that still wait for a first feature is the work of these 1-2 devs over the last 6 months. You can add in 20 management staff that are useless in the dev process and try all the day to seem busy to keep their job. Rest is customer support, marketing, true managment, and gem store team. This is ArenaNet. Sad.

I’m keeping my expectations small, but I’m hoping for:

- Dungeon runes are now tradable, similar to dungeon sigils.
- You can now salvage WvW and karma gear directly. (Would help boost supply of Ectos (and indirectly, Crystalline Dust) and cloth.)
- r500 Chef and Jeweler

Direct player-to-player trading is extremely unlikely to happen, since it would bypass the TP tax which is a huge component of keeping inflation in check.

I don’t see player to player trading happening since it allows ANet to say “We told you so and you should have used the Trade Post” when players get scammed. That and the Trade Post Tax sink.

My hopes are:
Salvaging of WvW/Karma gear.
Light/Medium/Heavy Armor sorting filters.
Removal of Transmutation Charges so we can change our looks whenever we want.
Old PvP only armor skins being added in to PvE loot tables.
