Finally we will be able to reset traits for free, and everywhere as long as we are out of combat. Just what SPvP got.

Are the April dates supposed to be abr ? Shouldn’t it be aPr? And wheres the capitalization for those dates? ><

I’m really hoping “A Colorful Outlook” (or “A New Way to Explore the Looks of Guild Wars 2”) is something about being able to dye weapons (somewhat) or backpieces.

Ugghh, all the headings are too vague.

I like what i see for now.

They got a excellent system to communicated information and get us exited. They give us a little more information every 2-3 days until the 4th april.

For now we only have information about the trait system. I see that they miss any Trait Template, which is sad. But the new system seem to make our life so much easier to change trait on the fly that trait template is not that big of a deal. I’ll be able finally be able to switch my Guardian build from WvW, to Fractal to Dungeon without much problem, which is awesome.

@Skullmount : I thik ‘’A Colorful Outlook’’ will be about the new Dye system. Some information from the Chinese version talk about account wide dye.

The new trait system seems really amazing and I am excited about it. I really hope that they will add in the ability to make templates like in GW1 to save our builds and just load them on the fly. Same with equipment templates. Was a really awesome part of GW1.

I would also like to see heros reintroduced somehow preferably having our other characters follow us into dungeons, but I don’t see that really happening in this game.

The new trait system seems really amazing and I am excited about it.

What’s funny is that this trait system isn’t completely new, THIS trait system was supposed to be in at release, but they somehow removed it and used the system we have now… sometimes I question the decisions of the devs.

I just hope they won t force more open pve down our throat…

I mean i hope they don t take away what we already have….since its begnning to be a bad habit….(fotm level, flamekissed armor, Central city HUB, celestial equipment……).

If they plan to make traits unlockable they just should avoid to remove old traits from players already using them.

GW2 balance:
A PvE player is supposed to avoid a 1-2 second 1 shotting aoe.
A WWW player is considered uncapable of avoiding a 5,75 second aoe for half his health.

It’s incredible how we only know so little of what is to come for this new feature patch…

…Yet a single glimpse already makes the entire patch worth it.

This brings so many great things from GW1.

  • Flavored horizontal growth based on exploring and hunting bosses.
  • Ability to switch and experiment with new builds on the fly and at no cost.
  • Some GW1-esque playstyle traits (ex. Interrupt Mesmers).

It also streamlines the trait system (easier to understand and use) on top of it all.

This change alone is enough to make me want to come back to the game to explore pve again.

It’s also good to know that Anet is finally embrancing the idea of adding more highly popular GW1-esque features to its sequel, instead of going with the old notion that “if you want a game like GW1, go play GW1”.

GW2 is certainly a very different type of game than GW1, but that does not means it can’t learn or take as much as possible from tis prequel, especially the mechanics and features that have made GW1 to shine. The excitement this blog post is generating is proof of that.

This patch is giving me a feeling that I haven’t for a long time – that I’m actually playing the sequel of GW1.

i was thinking about: Removing Restrictions.

What if finally they remove stats from equip or make them adjustable on the fly like traits?

Well we can dream at least….

The only way I’d consider using the new turret trait over rifled barrel turrets is…

1. If turrets get more utility (taking them over a kit isn’t as good, kits offer sooo much)
2. If turrets get cd reduction. Getting a turret destroyed means you’re without a utility usually for 30 seconds + (except for rifle/healing)
3. If turrets can manage AoE. AoEs are the turret killers. They destroy them in seconds. Projectiles aren’t as large as a threat to warrant taking a new trait over rifled barrled
4. If the projectile bubble can reappear again after 3 seconds. The bubble should honestly just reappear for 4 seconds every 3 seconds. If you did this it could be insanely useful in WvW on friendly siege. However, since you require it to be deployed to activate, you better hope the CD on turrets has been changed. If not it will probably not be used.

The part in bold. Yeah, my guess is we’re getting a VIP system.

I thought the same thing. Though I wouldn’t be surprised if soon after they introduce a build saving mechanic in the gem store.

If there is a VIP system, this game will be done.
The amount of outrage over that system in china is already enormous lol, if that gets implemented here in NA…man i hope the forum mods have internet armor because thats gonna bring the forums down
