Well here I go again; There seems to be a real struggle for player regarding these ressources.
When they were first introduced they weren’t used outside ascended crafting.
The dragonite & empyreal fragment seems to be at a decent percentage while a lot of people struggled with bloodstone as it dropped way too much.

First anet introduced some recipe with bloodstone in it as potential goldsink; If I recall correctly the first one was during Tower of nightmare LS 1. This wasn’t a sucess.

Second Anet introduced the Mawdrey crafting as a reward for the the LS2 & it was pretty successful in it’s role.

Then they expanded on the star of gratitude which was also pretty succefull on this.

Now while I farm the silverwaste quite a bit I realized that :
– I really need a dragonite eater.
– But also these two items just can absord how much bloodstone & empyreal fragment I get.

Before silverwaste I was able to feed mawdrey/star & wait 2 days before I can feed them & still keep a decent stock of these. Now I just crawl under them once more.

So it seems fair to me that Anet should reavaluate the amount of T7 consumed by these drain or propose another drain for them.

You just have to farm less, etc….

This is non constructive so please avoid that kind of answer.

tl dr; As you increased the amount of T7 that people can get in Silverwaste; the drain for them aka Mawdrey & star became insufficient.

This game is designed for the casual gamer, that has been proven time and time again, given this point, most people who only play an hour a day or so will never farm enough T7 mats to worry about not getting them used by MawdreyII or SoG,

Anyone who plays more or does a certain type of farm will always have excess mats, if you change the game/items to only work for those who play for hours/farm a lot then the target audience gets left behind,

Seeing as I only spend 10 minutes in game a day now to do dailies as the game is boring with nothing to do until the expansion I don’t find the T7 mats an issues to be fair, granted I do have an alt char with 120 slots full with stacks of them but yea.

I play for maybe 2-3 hours a day, never do any of kind farming, and I can not consume these materials fast enough. These mats are rewarded with everything you do. Yes they should make it to where it consumes atleast a whole stack every day.

You can craft sharpening stones with your bloodstone dust.

So go ahead and do that and you will be in the position of never having enough bloodstone dust. The Dragonite item is probably coming, and the Empreal fragments do need another sink.

Stop opening champ bags on a level 80 character. Get a level 75-79 character to open champ bags on. You’ll more or less have the same loot tables from the bags, except you will not get bloodstone dust if the character is not level 80.

Additionally, use storage characters if you absolutely insist on hanging onto those materials. Dragonite is something I simply drag and destroy every so often when farming SW.

This. I open all my bags with a lv 78 alt so I would get crafting materials and not these ascended materials.

The cap could probably be upped to 250 dust/fragments consumed a day without a huge effect. Removing the cap would just turn mawdrey/the star in to a farming frenzy for ascended mats to feed them. (Mawdrey might get fat too!)

Sometimes I’ve been able to feed mawdrey, and the star, a full stack even if I’ve fed them the day before.

Does it randomise between 4-5 loads of 50? I did notice I could feed a full stack, but it doesn’t seem consistent.

3-5 actually. There’s been days I havent been able to feed it 4 times, despite being the first time I’ve fed it since the last reset.

That is ridiculous. Keeping a character just below 80 to open bags shows there is a very big problem here.

I’ve gotten 6 a couple of times.

Range for me so far has been 3-6.

I’d like it if my second MawdreyII wasn’t linked to my first MawdreyII i.e. that I could feed them individually.

I don’t really think the Ascended sinks are meant to take ALL of the materials you get. They’re just meant to give you a little something in return for some of the overflow. Seems fine as-is to me.

Can anyone think of a reason why it has cap in the first place? Cause I can think of none.
