Feedback related to starting areas
The dodge tutorial is great for the dodge Daily. =)

Nice idea.
I used to do the dodge daily with a veteran oakheart. And the tricky thing was to finish it before the vet was killed by autoattack (or other players) ^^
Greetings.
Certain Hearts = Taking that one quest in Ashford where I used to pick up a bomb and throw it at others as an example, I am seriously not a fan of removing this. I know that this is a starting zone and the your objective here is to let new players learn all there is to know about the game and all, but I seriously think you are missing an opportunity in giving new players stronger positive first impressions by doing what you did on this patch. I mean, those quests, while tedious compared to dynamic events, were still pretty fun.
Whilst I agree that some of the heart changes aren’t great there is one change that I really enjoyed. There was a heart in Metrica (this one http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Assist_the_Opticalium_with_lightning_research ) where you killed Air Elementals and carried globs of Air Ele to a container plopped it in, spawned an new Air Ele, killed it and repeated.
Now when you kill the Air Ele’s you get a little weather system following you around which you “discharge” into the container. For me it’s made this heart really cool.

Hmmm that’s one of them that deserves a pass. I dunno if Golem Chess got removed there or something but if it did, I’d love it back, thank you very much.
I like the Dodge tutorial. I think it does a good job of explaining/showing people how Dodge is meant to work in game.
But other starter zone stuff, like the removal of bundles? That makes me sad. Poor unfed cows.

There are a couple of heart changes I am not overly keen on. In Queensdale having to dance to entertain the cows seems silly as opposed to feeding them to make them happy, and the one change I really hated was in Wayfarer foothills, you no longer have to feed the bear cubs the fish, only release the fish for them. I used to love catching the fish and offering it to the bear cubs.
One thing I think the devs do need to review is the aquatic mobs in areas before you get your underwater skills. I went into the lake beside the garrison in Queensdale only to find that the mobs were hostile and all I could do was swim away, not fight back. Learning to run away might be a useful skill, but I don’t think it was meant as a tutorial.
They could also do to move the Skill Points in low level areas or make it that you can access them even if they don’t show up, having to return to an area just to get the skill point is bad planning.
I would like to hear from NEW users..ones that started AFTER the patch. Those are the people with the most powerful opinion about the starting areas, since this stuff was designed for them, with THEIR input.
We can say what we do and do not like, but it’s all about efficacy at this point. Our opinions are moot if it works to retain new players.
