Do you ever get the feeling that the RNG goddess just doesn’t treat you the same as anyone else? Do you sense her watching you all the time and snerking? Opened thousands of boxes and gotten nothing at all and been assured by the white knights that it’s just bad luck? Falling further and further behind your mates in drops but can’t prove anything?

RNG God is a small vindictive child.

Although tonight I finally got 2 (yes 2 after 4 months of nothing) exotics. Superior Sanctuary rune from HotW and then Adam during Jormag after I got out. That doesn’t make up for the massive amount of nothing in between.

After 2800+ hours of play, doing everything from WvW to dungeons, fractals, world events, dragons, temples etc I am fully convinced that accounts are flagged for good or bad RNG upon purchase. I unfortunately bought a bad account, the only rares I see are from the chest from temples, not the big boss chest but the little daily one per account, I maybe at most had 8-10 exotic drops since launch, I dump rares into the mystic forge only to get more rares, T6 mats might as well be exotics for me cause I hardly get any. My cousin on the other hand, with only 200 hours played has had over 8 precursor drops, gets at least 1 lodestone everytime he steps into CoE, and rains exotics, rares, and T6 mats, he already has his first legendary with little to no effort or expense. Meanwhile I am scrounging every piece of copper I find afraid to spend any because god knows how long it will take to earn it back.

Yeah this game has to be hands down the most unrewarding game for my time I have ever played, makes me wonder if I forked over the few extra dollars at launch for the collectors edition if my experience would have been better.

My friend who I got this game for his birthday barely plays and then he went back to WoW. After me forcing him to play he finally made his way to level 80 and he has gotten 6 exotics, 2 of them being precursors and he hasn’t even reached 150 hours. Worse I need Dawn for Sunrise and when he got it he started laughing at me and sold it. I have 700 hours and I have never gotten an exotic and only get rares from the bonus chest. I have thrown in about 1,500 greatswords into the toilet and still have gotten nothing.

I’m with you, my account seems to have been flagged to be unlucky for the rest of its life. I received one exotic. Guess how many hours I’ve played? Over 2700 hours into this game and I get ONE exotic. I received it on a run through CoF part 1 for the millionth time, and I didn’t even recognize it has an exotic when I got it. I later looked in my bags and hopped around the room with joy only to find it sold for 95 silver. I’ve dumped so many rares in the Mystic forge that I’ve lost track. This isn’t just an unrewarding game, I think this is a troll game for Anet. They’re probably trolling all of us right now going, “Haha, they think they’ll get exotics from us. How about we throw them some blues and a useless rare every once in awhile. Oh, while we’re at it, let’s give them a .0001% chance to get an exotic from the mystic forge.”

I can’t remember the last I get exotic, and when I complete maps for exotic at level 80 I get level 76-79 exotic. Maybe is a trolling way but idk why I get under 80 gear in level 80 map.

We just don’t want players to grind in Guild Wars 2. No one enjoys that.

7 hrs shy of 3,300 and I’m with ya’ll. I play twice as much as my guildies and friends but get less than 1/2 what they do. I throw all my dungeon token exotics into the forge along with countless rares only to have the toilet troll laugh. I watch guildies that hardly leave LA go out once in a blue moon and get multiple precursor drops. There really has to be something marking accounts. After enough time the rng should level out, but that does not appear to be the case in this game.

After 16k+hours in gw1 and 3k+ here in gw2 I can say I am a fan of the franchise, but this rng lack of reward has me on the verge of quitting. The only thing at this point that keeps me playing is my guildies and having the feeling that my guild may die after 6 years is I do.

Im over 350 hours in and I’ve only had one exotic drop. It was the undead arm scepter from tequatl, which is worth close to nothing.

My RNG is bad, but it isn’t as bad as one of my current guild mate’s. He hardly ever gets anything, even mats. His bad luck eventually became quite well-known in the guild, to the point where people would purposefully show off what they got after world events and then go, “I hope ____ isn’t reading the guild chat right now lol”, to which he’d go “NO, I’M NOT!”
