Ill put it bluntly i had this game since open beta did all dungeon went to fractal level 40+ and got 8 characters all equiped in exotics and some ascendant most of them running a meta got 2 craft to 500 and i still got only 5970 achievement point. Do i need to feel guilty for having left out of game during the whole tomato scarlet period? Am i bad actualy not having 10k achievement point yet despite having had my dungeon master and other stuff like 60 day after release?

It just means that you’ve focused on only once aspect of the game. If you have dungeon master then you shouldn’t have a problem getting dungeon groups which is the only place people use AP’s to limit people.

I think you are probably missing out on many fun aspects of the game, but there isn’t anything wrong with that.

AP’s are more of a gauge of time played then anything else. What is your /age? playing since beta could mean anything from 8 hours a day, every day since launch, to logged in once during beta took a two year break and logged in again.

i actualy played like an addict for several months until flame and frost hit wich is when i got disgusted with the current class setting and left the game for like nearly half of the year. My main character got quite the age.

Id like to mention daily quest where implemented after i left so many people got a lot of free achievement point from them that i didnt benefit from. funny fact when i left dusk was behing sold for about 200 gold max.

Play as you like, who cares about AP points. I play since beginning and I only have 7k. I just did the things I want to do. I wish they would add a feature that you can hide your AP.

Yeah, you probably focused too much while you played.
I noticed that when I started to do PvP (very casually) my AP started to rise by a lot, specially because I’m playing with all classes.
Try to do different stuff, you don’t need to actually pursue an achievement, just do some JPs, do the personal story with different races, try to use different weapons while you play and so on.

Similar case… just hit 9K AP and being playing since open beta, but since I didn’t participate in some of the old LS I got no points. Temporary content drawbacks I guess…

An option to replay those stories would be great, specially since most of them included unique content like molten dungeon or the tower of nightmares… IMO it was wrong to remove access to it. At least LS2 is getting it right.

Everyone that has high AP got it through completing all daily achievements and living story achievements. None of those required any skill for the most part. Don’t feel bad for not having high AP.

haha, I saw a dungeon lfg that said 3k ap… I thought they were referring to attack power Elitism will always find a way into any mmo, best thing you can do is ignore it because it doesn’t mean jack.

Not sure why your feeling sorry for yourself. All you have to ask is one basic question, ‘Did I enjoy myself?’. Only you can answer that. If you did, then all is good. As for AP, its open to all, if you want it go for it, if not, don’t. Either way, it does not make you a bad player.

(This part doesn’t apply to the OP but is on topic) There is a lot of pettiness about AP. Sweeping empty statements often put out there, that people who may or may not have it link AP to skill level, which is quite frankly ridiculous.
Many people out there are specialists in their field. IE, dedicated WvW players, who do not step out of WvW, will quite often have low AP, but know their craft inside out, same could be said for Fractals etc.

The suckiest part about missing temporary AP is that you’re that much farther away from having full Radiant/Hellfire armor skins. Just off of daily/monthly accumulation alone, it will probably take years to get enough AP.

Otherwise, it’s not a big deal. Really, it’s not.
