Guild Wars 2

While playing GW2 with my wife today, I was in combat and a line of dialogue I hadn’t heard before triggered from my female asura character.

The line was, “So this is what it feels like to be Taimi.”

Now, this line could go two different ways. Referencing her ability to wreck kitten with her golem, or referring to the trouble Taimi has getting around due to her degenerative disease.

I looked up the line to see what triggers it. Someone said their husband’s female asura said it when downed. This leads me to think that the line probably triggers in response to a negative status effect or some such, like Slow, and thus that the line is referencing Taimi’s degenerative disease.

If possible, I’d like confirmation on this and any details beyond that so that I can know specifics.

I’d also like to ask that, if the line is meant as I read it and triggered by what I think it is, that the creators consider removing it. It just seems like a really tasteless comment. It’s hard to feel especially motivated to play as a character when I run the risk of encountering a line of dialogue that’s going to ruin my mood. I’ve had issues with my character’s dialogue before but this is definitely the worst example and if this could be fixed I’d really appreciate it. Thank you.

That does indeed seem to be in poor taste. I’d like to think my little Ranger has better sense than that.

I’ve heard this line several times and at least for me it seems to be random. I’ve gotten it from just standing around doing nothing. Also, the voice is excited when she says it, like something positive is happening. There may be a bug when and how it gets said.

It actually occurs when you’re in some interesting situation,. this includes just standing around because observing the scenery is something that an interested intellectual would do quite a bit of. Unfortunately, this also makes it feel like its been said because you aren’t moving, or stuff like that, and it comes off with the wrong implications.

I recommend that they revise when the line is said.

I’m not sure what triggers it, but the voice sounds happy and excited, so, really, it does not even need a context. Trying to force it into something bad is just so Tumblr.

I’d like to mention that there have been recent sound bugs randomly triggering lines. I believe that people were mentioning that their revenants were triggering the “May Lyssa confound you” line at random times
