I thought we were told crit damage would only be reduced by 10% ish. However looking at my new crit damage I’m at 213% -150(base) = 63% new crit damage. Before I was at 101% crit damage. This seems a little more than a 10% nerf in crit damage. Why such a big nerf to crit damage? Just curious.

The 10% that people toss around without having actually listened to the original quote is around 10% to total damage inflicted. The crit damage reduction was always going to be significantly higher than that.

I think they lowballed it or didn’t understand just how extreme the typical power-based damage build has become. but looking at your numbers your total loss as a percentage of your previous value is right in the expected range, depending on your crit chance.

I wonder what your basis for comparison is…”

It seems a tad unnecessary to make such a drastic cut in critical damage. I never understood why this was needed.

It’s about a 25% overall damage nerf in full zerk builds, not 10%. I just spent the past 3hrs in WvW and that’s what it averages out to. I’ve also noticed PVT players or tanky players are also doing significantly less damage. That’s a trade-off I can live with.
