Here’s an idea =) There are currently two variations of the power/precision/ferocity stat combo and the Power/Toughness/Vitality set. Berserker( POW/prec/fer) and Assassin(pow/Prec/fer) for the power/precision/ferocity and Soldiers(POW/tough/vit) and Sentinels(pow/tough/VIT)
Although I haven/t spent any time trying to think up names for them but, how about a third variation to both stat sets: (pow/prec/FER) and (pow/TOUGH/vit) variations. I really think these might fill a final niche for Traits vs Armor and Trinkets! (At the very least give us more room to experiment and play around with!!)

side note: you expand even farther on this too! Three variations on each stat combination! Example: Valkyrie = (POW/vit/fer) so creat (pow/VIT/fer) and (pow/vit/FER) variations and ect.

Any opinions or ideas on this?

More choices are always nice, but there’s so many stat combos with no representation at all still that I’d like to see first.

What would this change? Or is it a simple way to get more builds to play around with?

Bad idea. Sentinel/Assassin have already a hard time competing with Soldier/Berserker. And Ferocity and Vitality are the weakest stat in those combinations. So adding the third combination would be useless.

What we need is new combinations that can complete the empty spot, precision-vitality and a lot of combinations around them.

Here’s an even more extensive idea!!! It would both simplify AND expand, could also include/solve Relairs remark: include more variations of stat combinations and make the dominant stat optional. Expand on that and just give ascended armor the ability to modify stats like Legendary armor OR create LEGENDARY ARMOR!!!!!!!!! =P

p.s. this is where ideas go crazy xD 1: Create Legendary armor 2: Make it so both Legendary Armor and Weapons have a set number of stat points that can be manipulated between all seven stats!!!!!!!

p.p.s and by the way, has anyone noticed how celestial amulet gives a total of 399 stat points, 57 across all seven, and all the others give 296 across three? Might this be the balance to the loss of crit impact for celestial????

Why not just add some more variety into the game in terms of stats. Would be nice to see things such as some cast speed, life leech, or something that effect abilities in other ways besides just increasing the damage they do.

I find it ironic that some posters request more stat combos to play around with while some posters in other threads bemoan the lack of gear diversity.

If we had to have character stats on armor, stats should have been done as follows:

Armor has three slots, a major and two minor slots.

Stat mods can be crafted and used or sold on the TP. In addition, mods would drop. These modes would consist of stats (all the stats we have now). If slotted in a major slot, the mod provides the Major stat bonus for that type of gear. If slotted in a minor slot, it would provide the minor stat bonus. Alternatively, there could be major and minor mods, with each going only into the appropriate slot.

This would greatly streamline the process of customization. No more complaints about desired stat combos being unavailable. A player could just put in the stats s/he wants. While the idea would take away from crafting (the various sets) on one hand, it would give more to crafting on the other (making mods).

Since that ship has sailed, I’ll support the OP’s request.

It is because the former you mentioned speak about WvW and the latter about PvE

As remark to your celestial:

Please compare:

ASC celestial armor/trinkets/weapons with divinity runes, dragons revelry starcake : 624 to all stats*7 =4368 added…. with 315 from food with 20% added MF…

ASC zerk armor/trinkets/weapons with scholar runes, truffle steak: 1262 power 745 precision and 845 ferocity = 2852 points added… with 170 from food

Dps wise you lose 27% points in power, ferocity (on armor/runes/trinkets) and 8% points in precision. you’ll gain 624 poits in vitality, healing, toughness and condition damage… which will add a lot as long as you USE the stats! DPS wise most power/precision carrying 3 stat solutions will have more dps…. but will be missing points in 4 stats… loosing out on 6k health, a decent base healing/condition dmg and enough toughness to loose any squishyness

Said the weakest in those combinations, not in entirely game.

In Berserker, Power is the stat that brings the best damage per stat, while critical damage being the worst since its nerf.
The same happens in Soldier. Toughness is the stat that brings the most defense per stat, while also making more valuable the healing. And as it also has power, vitality becomes the weakest stat of all three.

Agree. I find vitality far more useful than toughness, at least for wvw, where you take a great deal of condi damage. I prefer sentinel to soldier on my warrior. I run full asc sentinel and soldier trinkets (cant be bothered to grind dungeons for the asc sentinel trinkets) with vit infusions.

All buffed up I have more than 37k hp in wvw. I also crafted an ascended nomads armor/weaponset to see how toughness works as maxed stat instead of vitality and i have to say i feel more tanky with vitality maxed.

for nomads vs sentinels, on the high end toughness adds less and less.. vitality scales linearly. 1 point vitality is 10 hp and there should be a break even. I only wonder 1 thing, when someone drained your HP the 37k how are your going to refill it while in combat???

No healing skills scale that amount with healing…. so: How would you manage?

A contestor build -.-

I either get out of combat, with gs/sw&wh i have plenty of mobility, or I use my healing skill, defiant stance. Especially, if you have more than 3-5 enemies bashing on you, you often get heals of 30k+. Double Endure pain also gives me 10 sec direct damage negation.
