Fiery Dragon Sword
No theres no way to get it sadly. And tbh that doesntneed to change it would undervalue alot’s of ppl effort in gw1.
Also gw1 wast excactly an mmo pve wise at least so its not like you will gat a huge diff in experience.
You could also get 1 or 2 of your buddys and run it. Glad you enjoy your time tho. You might wonna look at jormag’s breath the design is pretty similar.
No, you have to play GW1.
All of GW1 can be done solo with heroes.
It’s fun so I’d give it a try. It’s not like GW2 is overflowing with content.
You want something but doing what needs to be done to get it is a waste of time … hmm
We need to move on from GW 1 and make it possible for players in this game to get the skins for this game.
Also need to make gem store items, especially skins, available more often.
totally agree with you…

if it was something in GW2 i wouldn’t mind doing it, but having to play another game just to unlock it seems counter productive honestly…

sadly no one wants to play and i don’t really blame them tried to play it alone got bored real quick…
wish i had someone who played GW1, but doesnt play GW2 that way i can link his account and get the sword ;p….
The HoM rewards are a consolation reward for all the people who lost hours of account progress and well loved characters when they shifted over to this game because ANet decided to stop updating the game they were playing and make a new one. It’s purpose back then was not for new players to unlock items for this game, even though it’s allowed. In fact, before gw2 began there some talk of not letting new players get these rewards. It’s only later that it was decided to keep the HoM open and available for all who want to try for the rewards.
So, it was made to reward gw1 vets for playing and supporting the game for all those years and as something they could have for leaving their old accounts and characters behind. For that reason, it’s not appropriate for ANet to change the rewards and hand them out to all who haven’t played gw1.
ANet may give it to you.
We need to move on from GW 1 and make it possible for players in this game to get the skins for this game.

Why would this be a good thing? Those rewards were advertised for years before GW2 to be exclusive for those dedicating time in GW1. ANet continues to make GW1 available to anyone who also wants those rewards.
In addition, GW2 already includes many GW1-ported skins and tons of skins that are nothing like GW1.
The FDS in particular becomes available with only 10 HoM points and you get 3 just from linking accounts. If you have friends that played GW1, the chances are good that they have enough minis for you to obtain 5-6 points from minis, without any effort on your part (aside from unlocking the HoM tapestry). And it’s possible (again with help from friends) to obtain one weapon and one armor, without hardly any effort.
In short, it’s simple to obtain the FDS if you really want it. There’s no need for ANet to make it available via GW2 and several reasons why they should not.
One change they could do is hide the skins from the wardrobe until the account unlocks them.
If you are serious about wanting the fds and have eotn + 1 campaign I will help you get it as it’s not that hard. Talking free gear, mats, platinum and rushes.

No we don’t. See what I did there? It’s opinion versus opinion.
To TC, if it’s about the skin, you can get:
https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Jormag%27s_Breath
which is the same skin just in blue.
If it’s about completion, get a guide and put in the sub 1 week playtime into GW1 and earn the rewards. https://www.reddit.com/r/GuildWars/comments/iu3qw/a_hom_guide_to_3050_aimed_at_beginners/
Actually, Cyninja’s suggestion is pretty good. Jorgmag’s Breath is one of my favorite sword skins, it’s got flash without being as flashy, and works with a lot more dyes, armor sets. FDS is perhaps more awesome, but JB is the right ballpark.

I have 46/50 HoM points from GW1 and wouldn’t find less value in my Firey Dragon Sword. In fact, I wouldn’t mind the HoM rewards to be available to everyone in some form, like gem shop, or guaranteed wardrobe unlock from black lion chests, or maybe even in game rewards that take effort to get.
Seriously. I’ve had the stuff for years. No need to keep things exclusive forever. Not wanting anyone else to have it makes me feel selfish. And I don’t care about being a special snowflake with exclusive skins.

Maybe when gw3 is anounced and the new HoM starts then tbey could add stuff but no this has a purpose and it working like a charm that way i like how it is and it doesnt coz any problems there for why should it change?
And another thread about “I don’t like how the game challenges me”… sigh. If you don’t wanna do it, get your grandma to play it for you. Otherwise, get another sword, simple.
ah, another “i want what you have without doing the work you did for it” post,
i love these
i have the FDS because i played GW1 and have 10 HoM points, if you do the same, you’ll get the same reward, simple!
i actually feel a little kitteneated (really anet C and H is censored?) that everyone can use Black Widow in pvp, it shares all of its skills and stats with another spider so i don’t see why anet let everyone use it,
its the final reward for HoM after all.
As someone who has started up Gw1 recently to get HoM, it’s ridiculously easy to get 10 HoM. I’d say the most off-putting thing for me personally was spending a non-insignificant amount of $$ to buy 10 year old games rather than the time spent.
As for not having people to play with, that’s clearly a personal preference thing – I thoroughly enjoy not having to rely on others for the actual gameplay content I need to do. Of course… its the opposite as far as trading goes.

It’s not exclusive at all because anyone else can have those skins if they’re willing to get it through GW1 (only takes 10 points), which is still running and is still a great game but you have to do the content to get the skins. That’s fair enough, IMO, and is just like the skins from fractals, WvW, sPvP, raids, PvE and so on.

I think that the reason for that is because someone with 30 HoM points could use a Black Widow and a Jungle Spider at the same time and then have combat options that someone without 30 HoM points didn’t have. They want sPvP to be a level playing field hence they let anyone use the HoM pets in sPvP.
Anet have already said they will never make these skins available any other way.

just logged on to check, their F1 skill shares its cooldown, so you’re hindering yourself by running both, there is no bonuses that could be gained by having black widow against someone who doesn’t,
the only “combat option” you have which they don’t is to lose an F1 skill from one of your pets
though this is getting off the topic of FDS :P
The FDS requires 10 points to get. Linking a GW1 and GW2 account = 3, a single statue is 2…if you go through Nightfall you can easily get 5 heroes to add but you need to upgrade their armors. If you get the full set (prophecies, factions, nightfall, eye) you get MOX, so one hero ready to go.
I’m sitting at 40/50…I really need to work on that lol.
As I was discussing with a guildmate last week, the HoM rewards are a good thing. Many people who complain now about not having them because they did not play GW would be the same people complaining if the rewards from GW2 were to be given to people in GW3 (if it ever happens) who did not play GW2.
Also, as others have said, if you want the reward, do the work. No one will finish your living story or personal story for you if you want to do that. If you want it done, there isn’t an instant done for you. If you want a legendary, I suppose you could just buy one if you had the $$$, but most of us, like me, had to work to get the ones I have. Like everything, if you want it, then do what is required to get it. Even if that means playing a 10 year old game. A game which is awesome BTW. Those are the requirements to getting those things so either do them or do without IMO.
tl;dr Do what it takes to get things or do without.
I would like to see the following 2 show up:

Still do on my ranger while running through dark places… FDS+Torch=Light the way

Ah, love these posts. I want something but I don’t want to work for it. I just want it given to me in a new way because I don’t like the current way.
You want it bad enough you know how to get it. Same if I want anything in this game I know how to get it and I know I have to do it that way.
These are not skins meant for everyone who plays GW2. The are meant for people who played GW1. They are a “thank you for your support.”
If you post on the player helping player forum you’ll find lots of people willing you help you get the rewards you want.

Same with my ranger, it’s quite helpful.

Your skin will wrinkle and your youth will fade, but your soul is endless.
My cPS have it and I love the way she looks.
just get jormags breath if u don’t mind the exact same skin but blue … if u really want red fire get the fire bringer
the fire bringer has the same skin as honor of humanity but lights on fire when u wield it

The OP wants the FDS. Not the Jormag Sword. Not Firebringer. He’s not a GW 1 player. He’s playing GW 2. He wants a skin IN GW 2. These are two separate games with very different features. If you want to go back to GW 1 then do so. This is about GW 2 now. GW 2 players should be able to get the skins of their game IN their game. Not pay extra money for an old, out-of-date game. It doesn’t matter how long or simple the task is, it’s unecessary and a waste of money for those not interested in playing GW 1.
If you are a longtime fan from GW 1, have the achievement points, were able to link your accounts, then congratulations. You have earned something great. However you do not need GW 2 players to do the old Hall Of Monuments process just to validate your achievements. You do not need other players to perform the same task as you to satisfy your own sense of achievement.
There are redundant tasks to get skins and there are legitimately difficult tasks to get skins. In 2017, in a game that has developed far beyond its first installment’s model, this is a redundant task for a GW 2 player. It’s also an unecessarily over-priced one costing real money. If the OP wants the skin enough, sure they may go for it, and maybe they find themselves enjoying GW 1 and they reach however many points quickly enough. Yet whether they do or don’t, the task remains redundant.
If you’re nostalgic and just want to keep GW 1 and the HoM alive, you need to remember that you have, for yourself. Now you need to respect other players journeys who have no interest in GW 1, did not choose to play GW 1, and are in a game far beyond GW 1. HoM isn’t going to go away for you. You can do that achievement process all you want. Let others have their own journeys, especially ones in the game they have chosen to play.
If he wants it then he is free to get it the same way everyone else did. They are a thank you for plying GW1. Not a thank you for playing GW2.
The argument is as silly as someone demanding they have the pre order bonuses for a game they bought after launch, or buying the standard edition and demanding the items from the special edition. Do you understand now? You wouldn’t demand these things would you? That basicly what these things are. Or to look at them another way, they are bonus items for carrying over your game from the first game. You can’t get them any other way.
I hope you can now see why there is resistances from people about this. As it’s not just people who played GW1 for years to get these, but also the people who bought GW1 after to get these items that would be really annoyed by this. How would you like it if you went an spent some time and money to get something on for everyone else to be handed it? You’d be angry right?

LOL, i saw someone running around with that sword in Silverwaste a few days ago. I’m playing GW1 right now gunning for that sword and the game is fun, i dare say the system is actually better than GW2 as it allows more diverse build.
Another self entitled thread \o/, seriously if you want the reward gotta work for it. This is exactly like the scythe staff skin topic, were op wants but doesn’t want to work for it and therefore anet should make it easier to get.
I personaly spent 12 k hours in gw1. For you to get that without effort is ridiculous. That is a legacy of the time we invested into the francise and never those skins will be available for gw2 players only. You want it go and do what we all did and stop complaining. Its a game like any other it has active guilds and its not empty . The trading still works and to be honest even better then when were more ppl.

Those are two different things. Just like GW 1 and 2 are two different games. Pre-order bonuses would also be IN the game that they are playing. The pre-order or deluxe bonuses are available in the Gem Store. There should be a way for GW 2 players to get ANY skin in the game, within the game, and also keep the crossover way through HoM.
I don’t think OP is asking for the sword skin to be handed to them, they just want a way that is within the game they are playing. Why not make that way very difficult? Even harder than buying GW 1 and getting points? But the OP probably wouldn’t mind the hard work, because they will have fun doing it IN the game that they chose to play.
For me, it’s because ANet told us there would never be a way to get these in gw2. That they were a reward to us vets for playing gw1, a consolation for losing all our account progress by switching games and a thank you for supporting them all these years.
Now I know that some people will say that that was years ago but imo, it was a promise to us that these rewards would be special to gw1 vets and just because time has passed by doesn’t make a promise less than a promise or something that can be broken because it’s convenient for the game.
ANet may give it to you.
Sorry, if you want exclusive HOM items you’re just going to have to play Guild Wars like the rest of us.
As I recall I bought the entire collection pretty cheaply on Steam a month or two before Guild Wars 2 came out and was easily able to get the 10 points (which is what you need for the sword) just by playing through the campaigns.
Link accounts = 3 points
Any Pet = 1 point (freebie when playing Ranger)
Eternal Hero 3x + Eternal Protector 2x = 5 points
Any Hero = 1 point (freebie with M.O.X.)
The above should be the cheapest/easiest way to get your 10 points I think.
Fojja – Vyxxi – Nymmra – Mymmra – Champion of Dwayna .. and more
Highly Over Powered Explorers [HOPE] – Desolation EU
ANet doesn’t often promise things; that was one of the very few occasions.
