So I just returned to the game, and honestly I’m just looking for something to fill my time while I wait for my friends to come online(For about 30 minutes to an hour at a time) I really just want to find mobs to efficiently farm for their drops. I have a level 80 necromancer, and being so far out of touch with the game I don’t know what places are good to build up the cash pile. And tips guys?

Silverwastes is pretty much the go to place at the moment.

Silver wastes? Is there something in particular I should be farming that’s lucrative?

If that’s your goal then I’m afraid you’re out of luck. “Farming mobs efficiently for their drops” isn’t a thing in this game. Drops are distributed in a way that just going through the game killing stuff left and right will leave you with pretty much the best collection of drops you could be hoping for. Concentrating on one mob type in one game area will eventually (I think somewhere between 30 and 60 minutes) leave you with mostly vendor trash drops due to diminishing returns .

That said, there are areas prefered by people who like to spend their time farming. The champ farming trains in Cursed Shores (and to a lesser extent Frostgorge Sound) go around the map from champ event to champ event. Silverwastes in itself offers a decent amount of loot, and if you invest your bandit crests (that you get for participation in successful events in the area) into bandit keys you can join a chest train map and open lots of loot chests with those keys.

Aww, that’s kind of disappointing. I read the article about diminishing returns, and I understand their purpose. Unfortunately it seems that what I was really looking for isn’t quite possible in the game because of this. Thank you for your informative response, and for taking the time to post my friend.

If you are not into farming silverwastes (running around completing events and then rush to the chest at the end or whatever – sorry only did this once sort of as I was running an alt through LS2 lol). The best way that comes close to what you are asking for is to just pick a map, and farm events in them. Ideally you want events where many people will show up to scale up the mob numbers. This ties into my next point, go to the map of the day which has you needing to do events for. Make sure to call the events out and many people will show up as they want to get their daily over and done with. Continue even once your daily is done, just be a helpful soul calling out events to others while increasing your loot. :P

Sure there are other ways to make cash and probably far better (dungeons, silverwastes and what not). But to cover what you asked for I gave the above idea.

Since when did this business of being a hero become being a business?

You can either join the K-Train in Edge of the Mists or do the Champ Train in Frostgorge Sound.
