Yes, someone bought a tonne of them up in preparation for the chest nerf so they can sell them for 2-3x the price once it settles.

Arena Net announcing stuff like this beforehand is just really funny, shows with how little finesse they run the TP.

It doesn’t matter when they announce it, this would have still happened. That’s how people play the TP. Regardless, I do prefer they tell us ahead of time so the people can be prepared when the change does happen. This was done correctly on Anet’s part.

Yeah, no market manipulation there for sure. The price was down to what.. 9 gold a few hours ago? Ahh, people..

I feel bad for the people that heavily invest into this. Even if the drop rate is decreased, demand for the item is still to low for the supply available. Therefore, they can only sell a small proportion of what they have in stock for great margins. The people that bought a few to take advantage of the manipulators are in the best situation.

I was planning on buying one, now i wont its pretty simple really, 10gold was in the realm of the skin 40gold is not i hope the person who wasted money on these tanks bad.. no loss to me tho i saved 10 gold..

The same thing seems to happen every patch with a lot of skins. Emberglow seems to magically jump up to 40+ gold after every patch and then fall back below its normal level as the market manipulators desperately try to dump their mistake.

There is nothing special about the final rest compared to other exotic staffs though, is there?

I got one which I bought from a guildie at the market price when it was about 20 gold. The problem is, it doesn’t really look that good with the number one skill, which should sort of sink with it’s shape. It’s actually not a great looking staff when you use it, which is a shame. I thought it looked cool.

Only that it didn’t drop at all (for whatever reason) until a few weeks ago, so the supply is somewhat limited compared to other named exotics. It became a huge treasure hunt to find one, so everyone wanted it. Now it’s just, meh.
