Come on— you all know that jumping into the volcano of mount maelstrom is something you wish you could survive, and on top of that this will make map completion much more fun(but still slightly time consuming). I was debating doing some more map completion with my alts, and this will make it waaaay more fun. I hope this doesn’t cost too many mastery points, just spent all of mine

If you have gliding unlocked, then you no mastery points are required.

And yes, the volcano was top of my thoughts too when I heard. Race you down

you can already survive it if you jump down carefully with enough falldowndmg reduction

As I mentioned in another thread, I’m looking forward to doing this – there must be a massive thermal there too.

I am sooooo looking forward to doing this! I’ve wanted to glide in Central Tyria ever since I got my basic gliding after HoT. This will make running around so much more fun.

Also…gliding off Rata Sum could be even better – theres a beautiful view from the top down to the outlying POI’s

I have jumped a survived many times. Its called using a WP before you splat.

Its funny to get people to jump with you. Then you WP away and they go splat.

I tried jumping off during my first visit there. I thought that since lava was liquid, and it would probably be a damage-over-time tick when submerged in it, I would probably survive. I was disappointed to find that lava is actually solid.

Certain Shiverpeak locations also have my attention in the future :-)
