Why not? After listening to someone complaining in Lions Arch this morning…

Find a guild feature like we find a group, the guild leader gets to put up a little message saying what the guilds about, records how many members etc. Surely that wouldn’t take much effort? Would it? Keep it simple

how will the list be sorted then?

if display by server and sort the guild in alpha order, the guilds that start with A or Z will get more publicity….

if sort the guild by size, well, there might guilds who dont want ppl to join them due to size, and that kinda invading guild privacy! =X

if sort the guild by influence, large guild will surely be at the top, then again, it also invading the guild privacy! =X

pay a sum of $$ to be listed but the abv problems will still arise, perhaps adapt the highset bid to be listed at first list, then it will become a pay more to list type of function

also, mustn’t forget that there are bank guilds, list them too? ermmm….

ingame guild listing would be a nice thing

It could work like that:

If you are a guild leader and speak to guild npc (the one who can create a guild) you would see option to “open recrutation”.
It would cost some gold, similar to the way that “applying for larger guild” cost right now. (to avoid spam)
When choosing this option and pay the cost, guild leader will be required to write a guild description and choose a guild language and guild home server (still needed for WvW).
There will also be a place to put one or more accounts names – these people will be listed as recruiters (you speak to them If you want to join)
There could be some additional data like PvX, PvE or PvP option. All this options would allow later filters.
After all that, guild will be listed.
Guilds will be listed by how old they are or how long ago they turn on the recrutation. Is that fair? I think so.

If you are a player with no guild (or you are not representing one) and speak to guild npc, you will see a option – “see which guilds are recruting”
Then you will be able to choose home server, prefered language and other.
And then you will see the guilds list. You choose one and speak to the player listed there. And thats it.
