Finding Guilds in game
I made my own guild, and generally speaking I don’t advertise it. I’ve found that like minded people simply gravitate to me during the times I play, and then eventually join the guild. Probably why I’m so small, but I’m ok with that.
I’ve found too many guild hoppers, multi-guilders, or simply non-like minded individuals going the “SSW is recruiting” phases. Even trying to weed them out by asking what they look for, etc etc. shrug
My suggestion would be, if you see a guild group running together in the open world, see if you can join them. Play with them a bit, if you like them and they seem to like you, then check out if they are recruiting.
Yup LAN is right. Also guilds that randomly invite you tend to be full of ppl that don’t rep

Well there’s always the guilds that post in chat that they’re accepting people. And usually the guilds in the Guild Recruitment forum section usually have the server on the listing (if not in the header). Can’t search that forum right now, since the kitten search function is still borked…
Please give us a keyring…
Guild leaders like myself wish there were better ways to find members as well. I’ve tried posting info on sites like gw2guilds.org, so maybe it’d help to look there?

I’m curious how you find guilds in-game? I’ve tried to ask in the chat, but no one ever answers anything I’ve asked so far. I looked at the Guild section of the forum, but it doesn’t actually say what guilds are where, which makes it hard to find out which ones are on which server…
Also like many others, I wish the search feature worked so I could look up the answers lol…
My best recommendation for finding a guild is to post in the ‘Looking for Guild’ section of the forums. That seems to make connections pretty effectively.
Alternatively, there are looking-for-guild websites for GW2 around. I don’t remember the names of any offhand, but they should pop up as google results with a quick search.
1. Post in the LFG section, or browse the guilds recruiting section.
2. Playing the game.. .if you meet someone nice while doing a dungeon or something, ask about their guild and how would you apply to it.
3. Doing guild missions. Go to the guild missions subforum or here: http://www.reddit.com/r/GuildMissions . Several guilds send you a temporary invite for the guild missions, then you can see how they are, the general feel of the guild, then if you like what you see, ask for how can you get a more permanent invite.
4. Looking for multi-game guilds. It’s what I did, at least, got into a large multi-games guild back when I was playing Age of Conan that has divisions on most current MMOs these days, still with them 4 games later..
wrapped up in some crazy ritualist hoo-ha from Cantha.
A real grab bag of ‘you can’t hurt me. They’re called Guardians.
