I have been thinking alot about MMO games, It seems as though mmo’s specifically WvW, games create an interesting community sometimes harsh and cruel but focused on winning together, leaders emerge and the community solidifies.
I first had this experience playing DAoC as an underdog faction, following leaders into charges and sieges i couldn’t help but feel a strong pull to the game as a form of escapism that allowed me to zone into a universe more interesting at the time then my own suburban life growing up.
Now that I’m older and have a Master in Art I’m interested in capturing silhouette portraits of ourselves and our avatars in addition to historical depiction of massive events that we have participated in, huge victories – noble last stands. All these events that we participate in that have no physical form but are very real for all of us participating in them.
I’m going to propose this as a show to several institutions – if you are interested in participating, or have thoughts on my idea please let me know via a forum msg.
Thanks for your time,
