Finishers - Immune/Invisible
Why am I allowed to finish a downed player with my stability or my aegis? That is their classes way of applying these sorts of effects. Though I do agree that the thief shadow step stomp is complete and utter nonsense. Stomped by somebody who is across the room is just cheating.
Players who use invulnerability skills to secure a stomp may be paying a high price to do so by putting those skills on CD in the middle of a fight. Easy access to stealth is just a perk of the thief profession and, to a lesser extent, mesmers and engies.
Consider that downed state skills are also not equal across professions and that the downed state is, itself, a mercy other games don’t afford you.

This, every time you get downed you should be dead. If your interrupt is just stalling the impending stomp then it’s a waste of time. The exception is if you might be rezzed or rallied, however your allies should be more focused on the interupt //killing of people stomping than you should be.

OP in ANY pvp situation if you haven’t exhausted your enemy’s stability or various other protections before you’re attempted-stomped, you deserved to die.
These players are giving up a powerful skill that will likely cost them their next duel to finish off someone who thinks downstate should give them that extra edge to overcome? Please, you dead.
There is no ‘exploit’. Working as intended.
The problem with the posts above mine is that player seem to have a lack of understanding of the fact that the game is balanced around the downed state. It is not something that is just “tacked on”, the balance in both PvE and PvP is molded around the fact that you can go down and have a good chance to get back up.
If you think that the “up” state in this game is anything compared to other PvP games, you are being silly because players are made of explodium in this game even in full PVT gear and even on bunker builds all it takes is one rogue poison or immob.
Long, drawn-out battles are usually between two bunkers, with both of them doing almost no damage and having too much defense to overcome with said amounts of damage in any reasonable amount of time, if at all.
And these battles largely only exist due to capture-based gameplay. If the gameplay was not centered around capturing objectives, people would not bother attempting to bunker their way through everything and would just all go DPS.
Not to mention that in most games you can be insta-rezzed, whereas in this game your entire party has to put themselves at risk to do it…
I’m usually really sweet… but this an internet forum and you know how it has to be.
