Hey guys, I was just wondering what you guys do when it comes to finishing zones 100%. I myself just started doing that, but every zone I come close to completing is glitched in some way and renders me incapable of “completing” the area. ( btw Anet fix this). I’m asking you guys what is the gain you get from 100% and why, personally, you finish the zones 100%. thanks for the input.

You get some money, a stack of mats, and two items usually

ON one occasion I have server hopped to get around glitched events, on another I was lucky enough to get dumped into the overflow. All others so far (up to Iron March) I have just completed through sheer determination. (Found the one logger who wasn’t dead or glitched that was spawning ghosts and guarded him till completion, Iron March 100% !

Oh, and I do it because I am an explorer. I want every inch of the map explored, every nook and cranny probed for secrets, every rock that even looks remotely like it might lead somewhere special tried and tried again just for good measure.

I didn’t spend hours playing the original Zelda burning every single bush or bombing every wall on the map because I wanted new shineys. Just saying.

And on top of that I also talk to every npc I can, just to see dialogues and different perspectives. Sometimes I am pleasantly amused. Sometimes I can’t wait to leave cough charr cough… think its taking me forever to gtfo charr areas because the amount of whining and moaning combined with some bizarre sense of superiority and entitlement that even surpasses asura makes me gag. You’d think if someone went on butchering spree for no reason other then doing it… would expect to get screwed. But nope… charr are still mad proud they went to war with exiled race only to drive them to such a corner that they chose damnation over being butchered. Now charr are still stuck fighting humans… dead humans….
Now I’m just raving LOL. Anyway… this game is great because of little things and majority of it stems from exploration. My class is broken to hell so all I got is exploration.

If you plan on crafting legendary items, you need 100% of the map completed.

The items, gold, and if you’re leveling, experience can be a good motivating factor, but for me, it’s just the fun that makes me wanna do it.

Many zones such as fireheart/orr zones have glitched skill challenges you either ahve to get lucky by being the first to do it after a reset or transfer to another server

So far I’ve seen several map completion-preventing bugs in Iron Marches, Timberline Falls, Straits of Devastation, Malchor’s Leap, Cursed Shore, and Bloodtide Coast.

Stark, I love this game as much as the next fan, but let’s be objective; there are broken skill challenges, dynamic events, and renown hearts all over the place. Thankfully, ANet knows what’s up and they’ll be rolling out fixes tonight and another big fix on the 24th.
