Hey all, I need your advice.
I started farming up for a legendary weapon, but I can’t choose which one should I get.
I don’t want end up disappointed with what I chose as it’s really expensive…
I thought about the incinerator(It’s really cool) as I created a thief but now I given up on the thief with the upcoming expansion.

So my main is a ranger and i’m going to create a Revenant with the release of the xpac so those will be my main 2 classes.
Because of that I’m thinking now about creating a bolt as it can be used(as a skin also) on both of the characters and thinking about a revenant charr with dual bolts sounds nice.

Any other suggestions and tips from rangers/future revenants out there?

Maybe wait if you can and see what new legendary are with HoT. You might like better than old one.

Farm away, but wait to see the new Legendaries before deciding?

I will wait to see if i’ll like something though I understood that the progression of getting those legendaries is a bit different and I hope it won’t be too complicated and painful to do.

Go ahead and farm for the materials (e.g. T6, lodestones) that you’ll need to change your precursor into a legendary.

With HoT we will be seeing new legendaries, so I would wait- just in case there is something more fitting or that you prefer.

With the pre-cursor crafting/scavenger hunt, it shouldn’t effect current methods of acquisition. So, even if you don’t like the scavenger-hunt method or new legendaries, you’ll still be able to get a precursor the traditional ways.

Also… personally I would try playing the revenant before you consider making a legendary for it. Who knows- you might not like revenant as much as you thought you would, or prefer a different weapon on it.

As others have said, wait until the new legendaries are revealed, that is what I am currently doing because I would really regret making one now I would want to replace.

As far as getting a current one goes that fits ranger and revenant, bolt is an amazing skin and was my first legendary. It is also not too common (though it is by no means rare to see someone else with one) so you will stand out at least a bit.
However, for the actual look and effects of a legendary, in my opinion nothing even comes close to kamohaoli’i kotaki. The only problem is it is an underwater weapon so you won’t be able to show it off too often, but if you like exploring underwater, there is no better skin than that.

I wouldn’t worry to much about which one to get to be honest. Not if you are just starting out.

All Legendarys share certain gifts (Gift of Fortune, Gift of Mastery). Those 2 will already take close to a month of HARDCORE farming if not longer (see http://gw2legends.net/).

HoT will be out by the time you have those gifts completed, and you can then decide what legendary to finish off.

Small hint, don’t burn yourself out on farming gold and mats for the legendary. Very few people finish their legendarys in 3 or less months. It’s a serious gold grind if you aren’t doing other things on the side.

Proud owner of kudzu. This is just a perfect legendary to me. It fits its theme perfectly, the flower effects for the body of the bow are amazing, and the gold projectile looks perfect.

I feel like it has the perfect balance of prestige and subtlety. The over the top cartoony ones feel more like random gem shop skins.

Farm up your materials and gold but don’t craft the gifts until you have the most time consuming and expensive parts out of the way. That way you’ll still be able to use them if you change your mind.

I find Bolt to be a more fitting weapon for mesmers. It all depends on how you’re designing your characters! Also this weekend is the last beta weekend so you can play revenant with sword and see how you like it.

I’m not a starter, I can already craft gift of mastery and almost half-way to gift of fortune.
And i’m planning just to buy the precursor if i’ll prefer it over the new mastery system way so yeah, i’m waiting for the reveal of the new legendaries and in case i won’t like them much, I would like to know which legendary should I go for as i will probably have my legendary not long after HoT release.

What others have said…..farm away but I would not make one at this stage until HoT comes out as it is just around the corner. You don’t want to make one only to regret it the next day if HoT releases something you like even more.
