First and last ascended armor.
It’s generally really tough to mix modes with a single set, generally you’d make ascended for the mode you do absolutely the most.
But if I was forced to pick, zerker can work due to it being best in pve, and also possible to do wvw on necro/ele, but it can be rather difficult as your positioning must be top notch. But since you do fractals, it’s likely you can make up for it with the trinkets you get if needed.
for there you have been and there you will long to return.

My first set of ascended armor was a Celestial set with dolyak for my elementalist. It worked well in WvW and in Fractals. But then the various nerfs that were suppose to affect the Zerker meta nerved celestial more pushed me out of that armor and into Zerker armor with scholar. I still keep the Celestial armor around for when I need to switch to healing and conditions or survive-ability, and WvW. I’m almost exclusively PvE these days so the Celestial armor is getting dusty.
As Archon says its very hard to mix modes with the armor. Celestial used to be good for that, but not any more. Celestial might still be the meta for D/D elementalists in WvW, but its definitely not for PvE or fractals.
And I agree if I was forced to pick I would go with Zerker armor. And then stick with the zerg in WvW and hope someone drops some healing and make sure you have a fair amount of condi removals.
Zerker would honestly be the most ideal for most meta builds in pve for all three of those classes. However, high level fractals can be different in that aspect depending on your own abilities to stay alive and handle the high damage in there. So, you may want to opt for something that gives you survivability as well as power. It’s kind of up to you. You could try looking up builds for fractals or wvw that you like, test them, and then see about what type of armor you want for it.

Personally, I like to hybridize my gear. I like to keep my armour on a defensive stat combination (Soldiers for example), while making the weapons and trinkets more offensive based. I never like to go full berserker, I find it pointless. Sure, I can dodge, but I only have 2 dodges, and if a boss monster decides to attack a 3rd time, I can’t dodge it, then I die, and dead people do less damage than people who aren’t wearing full berserker.
Necro + wvw = Dire
Necro condi + pve = Rabid
Necro, Ele, Mesmer + pve = Berserker
You can have different sets of ascended trinkets to complete your setup.
Dont give up, you can craft a second a second set of ascended armor.
Get zerker armor, as it would be most universal for all 3 classes and both game modes. After this, do finetuning for each character/mode with trinkets (which are way easier to get). You get most of the stats from them anyway.
Remember, remember, 15th of November
Zerk armor with scholar(if you can keep the DPS buff) or strength runes. Then fill in the trinkets with whatever durability you may need.
