Fix Temples - Do not Reward Failure
They are still defending temples? I figured since the trait system for that was taken away, people would let failures happen again.

Yeah, with the trait system fixed, there’s no need for the defense events. Surprised they didn’t pull them with the update.

People are going to do the events just because they are there.

There’s a lore need for defense events and some of them are fun to do.
Really, this is about people who like doing event chains (and getting the resulting loot from the massive amounts of mobs) being in conflict with those who just like doing whatever event is in front of them. The issue is the conflict, not about whether there should or should not be defense events.
That means there are other solutions, such as having a chain of events for failure (such as happens in Harathi Hinterlands and Gendarran Fields) or increasing the rewards during defense by adding the boss and chest, along with more mobs.
I think that taking a Temple should have a reward. Defending a temple successfully should have a greater reward, to stop people claiming ownership of an event over other players.

I like this idea. It works for lore, it works for the community, and it also removes the source of conflict.
It is curious that retaking is more valuable to the player, when theoretically most heads of state and military leaders would prefer not to lose strategic targets.
