What is the point of having the Agent of Entropy achievement set to “infinite” if, after achieving it a finite number of times, and maxing out on the number of achievement points you can earn, you no longer earn any more achievement points? Each time I hit the required amount of salvage (200), it says that I received 2 achievement points….but I don’t!

So either fix it to remove the cap and allow a player to receive 2 points every time he/she hits the 200 mark, thus truly making it “infinite”, or have the achievement no longer be active after a player gets the max number of points.

I’d rather it be left the way it is… intentional or not, it acts as a counter for all the salvages you’ve ever done.
AFAIK, you can’t get that stat from any other source, not even the API.

Maybe it was easier to design that way to let people see how much they’ve salvaged and not have large AP from people who salvage large amounts for profit.

Many (not sure if all) were once truely infinite in this sense but people started farming AP so much that they ran the risk of earning all achievement rewards FAR sooner than Arenanet ever intended. That’s why they put a cap on how many times those repeatable achievements grant AP. It was basically a quick fix and also the reason why the UI still displays points even after you’ve gone past it. It is probably low priority to fix something like that though because it does work as it should.. it’s just a bit confusing if you aren’t aware of this.

I do not want to see this pop up anymore if I am not getting AP for it!!!

Lol i remember when they first introduced it as just infinite with no AP limit.

There were 40k+ AP people within 24 hours… They very quickly removed those AP’s and capped it.

They left it “infinite” however as it allows you to track the total amount of salvages you’ve done. No further changes are needed.

Leader board lists the highest AP character at 33,182, so I’m just going to assume you’re making numbers up.

I believe it was one player with 20,000 AP (unheard of at the time), though others had lesser amounts. As noted above, the APs were removed and the cap instated.

Even if it had been 40,000, you would not see it on the Leaderboards, as the APs were removed, and I don’t believe the Leaderboards were even a thing at the time.

40K AP from salvaging in 24 hours would by physically impossible. That number is definitely BS. Even 20K would be impossible.

I get why they capped it, but why couldn’t they just have a cool down after 250AP rather than a cap? Once you hit that threshhold you can can still get AP but only once every X days. It would still always count salvages but you only get AP for one roll-over every X days.

I’m fine with the cap and I’m fine with them leaving the cheeve infinite if folks want to keep track of how many items they’ve salvaged — which is weird to me, but people are different — but I wish they would keep it out of my top three . . .

I like knowing how many items I have salvaged, I don’t like being trolled with a non AP giving pop up
