Where I am not surprised that this “re-work” was actually just splashing some lava on another pre-existing set, I am quite surprised they didn’t pick Winged armor as I would see it as the next more wanted armor after human T3 o.o

Absolutley disgusted with this armor change, its revolting on a charr. I had a beautiful armor set for charr elementalist that blended the Pheonix and Flamekissed perfectly, now the flame kissed elements look like rags. Thanks for wasting my gems, and screwing the players over who actually liked the armor. clap, clap

I would like it back. I would not of purchased the armor skin as it is now. Too much fire in the wrong spots. Its ok looking. Not what I am looking for. I understand the other side of the argument. I will continue on. How about adding the armor back in as a achievement that can be earned in the future. Even though I have already paid for it, I liked it enough I would put in the work to earn it.

PS on the new set, I need to be able to color my fig leaf panties when I am coloring My leggings. The green fig leaves clashes terribly with the color combo I want to use. Too much flames from the shoulders up. Instead of the flaming shoulders, how about more of a glowing effect or just get rid of the fire all together.

First it was rage how the first one was terrible and now the second one is terrible. Can’t win.

Well, they were both terrible for different reasons.

The first one was “terrible” because it was “stealing” an exclusive skin, because God forbid players not feel like quite as special of a unique little snowflake (for the record, that same fury was why previous buyers of the Flamekissed skin were simply NOT going to be allowed to keep what they had… it was a explicitly expressed demand of that first group of protesters).

The second one is “terrible” because people who liked the look of the first one had it changed to something they like a lot less. Now that second group of people are righteously kittened off and are setting the forums alight like the first group did earlier.

Whats the point of the game if its not for the unique armor skins???? Seriously you cant be so naive to think that the game would survive with no purpose. That’s what taking away unique skins does it kills the entire purpose of the game.

In World of Warcraft the purpose of the game is to grind gear to ascended to higher levels to beat more difficult bosses. Guildwars 2 does not have anything like that. I understand they released armor that’s 5% better then what we had but for what? There is no newer harder content. They could have released armor that was 100% better and it still be pointless unless they upped the difficulty. That leaves Guildwars 2 as a Dress up game. Taking away someones ability to be unique makes the game pointless and even if you don’t agree it kill the game faster then the living story has.

They changed it for a good reason. Anet handled their mistake (of making it too similar to human T3) well; if players who purchased it like the old look better (like you), you’re given the option of a full refund. Think of it as having been able to rent a cool look for free the past few months.

The problem here is that they promised this game wouldn’t have vertical progression, or any grind.
But people kept claiming a gear grind while others kept shouting against it (Me included).
hey made it like this, thinking that this sliiiiightly better gear is going to be enough to shut up those who wanted gear grind, but not good enough to make people who didn’t want it, to start to cry too loud.
At some point, they will eventually be forced to add harder content to balance to the new tier, and that’s when the "War for “I was unrightfully kicked from x y z”" will be replaced by the epic war “I DIDN’T BUY THIS GAME TO HAVE THE NTH GEAR GRIND war”.

The crazy thing is while you would see the occasional female character wearing the feather armor (and it looked halfway decent) You hardly ever saw any male wearing this Feather armor cause it is ugly. They know this. Why would anyone want to spend real cash to get armor that almost no one wants with some added flame that so many other armors already have.

It has been said several times, all other flamekissed are re-skinned versions of existing armor, if they designed a totally new armor as a replacement for the light version then you would have another uproar of people who bought the re-skinned medium and heavy versions.

After you hit the submit button the page should change. What you’ll now see is a bunch of stuff about anti-phishing and other stuff…but if you look closely at the top there is a very small line of light-colored text saying your ticket number and that your support request was submitted. You should also receive an email at the email address you entered about your ticket being received and that it’ll be addressed as soon as possible. If you do not see this email in your inbox then you may want to check your spam/junk box and see if it was placed into there. If it is in there then you should mark it as not being junk/spam so future emails will be routed to your inbox instead of to your junk folder.

What I don’t get is why they changed the armor skins that had NOTHING to do with the T3 culture armor (I’m looking at Asurian and Charr).

Asurians have, in my opinion, very FEW armor choices and the first flamekissed was 1 of 3 armors that I actually LIKED in game for them. Now it’s gone. Asurians and Charr didn’t look at all like human T3 so why did they get changed?

I also don’t understand Anet’s issue with putting female asurians in actual skirts and not skirt/pants or pants. There is only 1 set of armor where I’m fairly certain it’s an actual skirt/dress and not skirt/pants and that’s the dungeon armor for TA for light armor.

I like the minor texture changes to the armor, but don’t feel it’s worth the gems over regular Feathered armor. The flames are somewhat of a hindrance to it – they easily clash with certain colour schemes that make it impossible to use how I wanted.

If the flames themselves could be dyed, I’d buy it. Dyeable particle effects would really make it worth gems… though I’d much prefer a system where we can buy particle effects and apply them to armor ourselves, rather than ArenaNet adding them to specific sets (have somebody go through the armor in the game and add particle generators to each piece that spawn particles based on a gemstore item slotted? I don’t know if that’s feasible, but it’d be awesome). As it is, it’s just slightly off with my ele’s usual colours: http://imgur.com/sLE3hLR

I haven’t bought it, and it’d take what I mentioned to have me consider it for more than around 400 gems.

This might actually have turned out good if the textures and effects were more high-res. It’s positively ugly because of the low res pixellation.

Also the way dyes interact with it kinda suck; hard to get a good look out of it without going black and red.

Anyhow I asked for my refund. It’s very disappointing for sure. I’d like to keep the Headpiece though. I actually already use Feathered Armor, but the original feathered actually sort of looks better, again because of the low res.

Also, the sleeves don’t interact with gloves the same way original feathered vestment does. With original feathered, gloves like Radiant Vambraces go OVER the sleeves, with this armor the gloves are hidden under the sleeves, making them look ugly (you just have white hands basically).

I think I can make this work but I need my armor back to default states so I can mix and match properly.

I still cant believe the stupidity of this, especially when you look at the breakdown of it:

1) Anet decides to introduce a new armour skin that honestly just looks like an improved/upgraded T3 set and allow any character to use it.

2) Anet then backflips, removes the skin THEY designed and introduced to the game and then states that players who have bought the skin will have it forcibly removed/refunded – This is the players who buy gems and support the game.

3) Anet replaces the armour from the original Flamekissed design based on the t3 human model, one of the most popular sets in the game with a fiery feathered reskin, one of the most universally disliked and awkward skins in the game.

I would be more then happy if they just implemented the original flamekissed back into the game as an upgrade/ascended human t3 armour with the cultural set as precursors (with a like design for other races ascended t3).

Honestly the new skin really isn’t even in the same league and a refund of what we already bought is a poor way to reward players who support your game.

I think this shows promise but a lot of players bought the human T3 for other races, so those players still would be unhappy.

In this situation there is no way to make everyone happy.

Here are mine. For some reason with the new set my dye channels have some dyes in them I don’t even own, oxblood and midnight red. I’m on the fence right now about it as there seems to be a lot less detail in the new set like around the waist area and such. I’m not exactly thrilled that it is a reskin of feathered since we were told the new set would be really nice. I guess by ‘really nice’ I was assuming it would be a completely different skin from existing ones but I know what they say about assuming.

Incomparable~ the new one is rubbish and you have my sympathy.

I dont get Anet on this. I’d drop the credit card for some decent armor skins in a flash. They could farm us for real gold like it was going out of fashion, but no…. they make this rubbish. It makes NO business sense whatsoever.
