Flashy banhammer
I wonder what your basis for comparison is…”
- Jareth, King of Goblins.
But I’m a law abiding Charr.. Do I still count?
Entirely on topic though: I really don’t think it’s massively needed atm. Sometimes it’s best to just ban someone they way they do it now and not have an uproar of gossip like they did with that public video of someone hacking who got banned, although it is funny, it attracts a lot of negative people too who make a big deal over it.
I suggest, the Ban-O-Tron.
The account to be banned is automatically logged on or moved to a prominent site, either a racial city or a Place Of Banning. The Ban-O-Tron come out of a nearby door, holding his Hammer of Banning. With one mighty whack, he flattens the character. The character disappears and the Ban-O-Tron goes back through the door, after making a witty remark.
ANet may give it to you.
“Um” that youtube video was a link to an event that happened literally one time. That’s entirely not what I was referring to and I really doubt the dev team has time to personally take over every account that violates the rules and fling them off of a cliff.
If you’ve ever played GW1, you’d know about the giant demi-god reaper guy that was scripted to appear and hack away people who get banned. It’s THAT kind of thing that I was referring to.
Law abiding Charr should be fine. It’s the shady drifter Charr that hang out in back alleys and sell questionable goods that should worry! And I know it’s not a priority. I was just hoping they’d have something in the future maybe. But I guess it would attract some negative attention to make getting banned almost fun.

I vote to have a giant Quggan appear and devour them in front of everyone. Then yell out “Quaggon hates cheaters, Fooooo”

And it automatically uploads a video to youtube!

As long as it ends up on youtube XD
Both are good suggestions. Or you can keep the tradition of stripping banishees by having skritt steal all his armor and carrying him off. But that might be too much.
I could not find it (it may have been a post by Chris C.), but a Dev posted that they were looking into bringing Dhumm (or something similar) back, in the future.
I am all for the cheater munching Quaggans!
The Mad King comes up beside the char to be banned and with a maniacal laugh, kills him then sinks below the ground.
ANet may give it to you.
This thread became all about ban suggestions, and I’m ok with that!
Sort of like finishers for devs to use, then?
Actually, I’d be fine with a quaggan coming out and killing them, then using one of the flashier finishers on them. But eating them works, too.
delicate, brick-like subtlety.

i like that idea^^
or maybe a crowd of 100+ Quaggans falling from the sky on the player and crushing him to death just by the big amount of them
OOOOOOR:

The purpose of a flashy banhammer is to publicize kicking accounts from the game. This is usually done to encourage others to change their behavior and/or to let the vast majority of players know that the game company is actively pursuing cheaters, gold sellers/buyers, botters, etc.
ANet’s philosophy in GW2 has been, for the most part, to do this quietly, the better to catch “evil-doers” unawares. For publicity, they have mostly stuck to a few specific occasions of publishing the numbers of accounts banned and/or the circumstances.
In most cases, ANet doesn’t bother to strip the account first: any ill-gotten gains are locked behind a blocked account.
The recent so-called “public execution” was a major exception, perhaps done because the account in question was more noticeable than most. I doubt very much if ANet plans to make this a regular occurrence.
tl;dr flashy banhammers wouldn’t have served ANet’s needs to date, so unless something changes, I don’t expect we’ll see them introduce one to GW2.
Here’s the Dev post (by Michael, not Chris…silly me) about Dhuum (bans) some day coming to GW2:

Good luck.
Here is the quote from the thread linked by Inculpatus. (Edited because the forum didn’t like the format)
GW2 need more Dhuum
Oh, we really want something like that as well. I have a design document built that we (CS) haven’t moved on because of higher priorities (getting you guys back in the game faster if hacked, etc>) but this is on the list. Also included are some unique ways for you to notice a GM when we’re online. I can’t promise any of this, of course, but it’s a direction we’d like to head if time allows.
ANet may give it to you.
